I think it is Switch related! My Switch has no problem whatsoever with the router from my brother. My brother however has a sloppy connection.

Hmm. Maybe later revisions do have a better antenna implementation.

it's necessary because the switch wifi obviously has a problem. Testing ALL possible combinations is the only way to know whether or not there is a "best setting" for the switch to work with your router. If Nintendo would do the same thing, it could *possibly* help them to develop a better firmware for the chip they're using (provided there is a specific setting that performs better than the rest).

You're not wrong. I just meant the end user shouldn't have to tweak settings for the Switch to work better if all other devices work well.

And I wasn't trying to help determine the problem since we've kind of established that. I'm just curious what knowledge might come from the tests. I'm not super smart, but I like to know things... I don't seem to have an issue myself, so I can't really test with my equipment.

I know people *shouldn't* have to do it, but it seems a user base needs to. It would be cool if there were a setting (or multiple combinations even) that could be looked at for someone here or even Nintendo to use to fix the problem. Then future fixes might insure that nobody has to worry about it anymore.

The latest available FW is still a snapshot. It might be the initial one. I'm not sure if there is a changelog or a way to view older versions. Also it's a .tar file. The stock firmware comes in a .img file. Not sure if I flash it via the web interface like official or if I have to use the .tar file to make a .img file. I can't look into until tomorrow.

Watch out because it looks like it's only specific revisions of the r6220.

I do hate it when they completely replace hardware but keep the same model number for marketing purposes.

I got a little mixed up, I think sysupgrade works for installing inside LEDE. So you probably have to start with the instructions here first https://emersion.fr/blog/2017/installing-lede-on-a-netgear-r6220/

But you might want to check the revision first, you can recover from a brick but it seems pointless to go through that for something you hate when it's easy to check

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.
