Won't work. As far as I know it's the firmware on the gamepad telling the Wii U "Hi, I'm a Japanese Gamepad!"You could use the recovery menu. Not sure if you would consider that homebrew
Huh, TIL. Hopefully it works thenThe README claims it works: https://github.com/GaryOderNichts/recovery_menu#pair-gamepad
so the console tries to flash the gamepad (it only holds 1 language at any time)"Hi, I'm a Japanese Gamepad!"
"owo what's this?"
While that's true it's just a simple software check the Wii U does while pairing. After pairing the region isn't checked anymore, so it works on stock firmware.Nope, they're region locked for some reason
What about updating the gamepad? How would that work using a console from a different region? While that's true it's just a simple software check the Wii U does while pairing. After pairing the region isn't checked anymore, so it works on stock firmware.
Or get a Japanese Wii U
