Hey everyone, I can't access youtube as of now because a VPN isn't set up yet. (It sucks.) Is it possible to get someone else's save off of their SD and put it into the proper titles folders? Or are the saves signed? From what I've seen the installer for Ironhax through tubehax it's just a save that has all of the code running homebrew. So technically speaking I can use that save to over-write my old one and boot homebrew?? This is just speculation. Would appreciate some help though! Thanks Tempers!~

You only need to edit once the DNS as stated on smea's github site. And set it back to automatically if you wish to do so

I do believe all software and saves stored on the SD card by the 3DS are not only signed, but possibly encrypted. I'm not sure, but it would fit with Nintendo's paranoia about this stuff.

I used cubic ninja and the install to get ironhax set up was very smooth and simple. Now I can finally retire the cubic ninja cart from my slot :)

But, is that required. Does China hijack DNS requests to servers, or just block connections to youtube IP addresses. If the first, then VPN, if the latter, then go ahead!
It is indeed the first. I have yet to fine a good VPN service provider that isn't own its way to being blocked. However, I did see something interesting smea said on twitter and could I do this?

Just found a guy that had a solution and spent like 10 minutes searching this thread. This should work for everybody in china/people whose dns are blocked by the ISP:

Some ISPs do hijack all DNS requests, so it's entirely possible you might be on one of those.

It's still possible to launch homebrew "the long way". If you've got Ironfall, this isn't so bad because you can just install Ironhax and ignore YouTube. If it's your only way of running homebrew though, things are gonna suck.

Long version:
  • start YouTube
  • touch the "three dots" icon in the top right
  • (sign out and then) hit Sign In
  • scroll down and hit Privacy Policy
  • scroll up and hit Google logo
  • type "smea mtheall" (without quotes) and hit OK
  • hit Search and open the first result, "Firmware version selector"
  • follow the on-screen instructions
You'll have to do this every time you want to start up the Homebrew Launcher this way, so it's functional but horribly inconvenient.

I'm so pumped, NCAA football video game is back after a 10 year hiatus, coming to SeriesS/X, PS5 in July.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Wish they would let us play the NCAA football 14 on newer xbox, its one of the only games I love and own on disc still, that is not back compatible, bs.

@BigOnYa My dad recently bought a spare Series X off of me, got game pass, and saw Madden '24 on Game Pass, decided to try it out.

...He was a bit taken aback by the 60GB download size. Poor guy's still living in the 90s!

@K3Nv2 He was looking into consoles for his house anyway (for my younger siblings and himself) and I had a spare XSX and Switch I ended up selling him at pretty steep cuts. I would just give them to him, but I did buy them with the intent to sell them... and college is super expensive.
