I was reading the sd filesystem page of the wiki and it seems the micro sdcard has a "contents" folder with placehld and registered folders.

Would it be possible to setup an offline update by putting the update files in these folders?

I would like todo this because my current internet service netzero free takes too long to download the update. I would like to download the update using the computer at the local library and apply it when i get home via the micro sdcard.

If I remembered it correctly, you can't even do this on 3DS. As Nintendo is serious about Switch's security, which they even decided to block save backup to SD card, I doubt you can. But I think via local download play would be an easier way to sync fw version offline than SD card.

Dang I guess i will need to go hang out at the library and try to find a usb ethernet adapter that will work with the switch.

it downloads the updates in the backround so you can play games while up dating

That may be so but I dont think it will ever complete because im limited to only 10hrs of internet access a month and I only get maybe 56kbps on a good day.

does the wifi work with your switch?
it does however its sharing the 65kbps with all devices in my house.

If your library gives you wired connection but not wireless you can bring your own router there.
That may be so but i dont think they would appreciate me plugging in my own router. I also dont know how I would connect a router to a wired connection that has a splash page.

probably a higher chance of doing this VIA usb tbh
Well i atleast learned that the switch doesn't recognize my usb dialup modem at all. It does however provide it with enough power to make the lights light up.

Well i don't have that but ill see if the switch accepts the usb ethernet dongle i use with my netbook.

Oh I tried that and for whatever reason its landing page crashes the switch browser even tho im on 3.0.2 (thats the version it came with when it was given to me) and as far as i can tell the "exploitable" browser is on 3.0.0 .

It crashes when the landing page tries to make me scroll down to read the full eula which as far as i can tell is just one huge textbox.
