Gaming Hardware Hacking Oldies Is PAL Game Genie for the NES working on the Famicom ?

I've learned that some PAL nes games don't work on the famicom (even with an adapter)
but is the PAL Game Genie working ?
I can't afford an NTSC one so I would like to know if the PAL one works before buying one...

If you can't aswer this do you know at least how could I verify that it would work or not ?

I don't know how region coding worked with the nes/famicom, but it seems to be pretty basic. I know the snes only had those tabs that went in between carts while Japanese super famicom carts were smooth. you could just break them off with some pliers, which is what I did to play dragon quest vi. @AmandaRose , thinking of you when I did it, even though we didn't know each other. haha.

As far as I know there wasn't a lockout chip on the old model Famicom. That's why there were so many Chinese and Russian bootleg games on black markets.
