If OP wish, he could downgrade to 7.0.1 again. SInce same fuses etc. and then use SXOS and Emunand.

I use XCI on usb hdd on SX OS. Does your method work with that?
Goldleaf =? https://github.com/XorTroll/Goldleaf/releases
Tinfoil =? https://github.com/digableinc/tinfoil/releases

Are these the correct links to most up to date versions of homebrew?
1. Do you have your Switch keys? If not, use Lockpick (https://github.com/shchmue/Lockpick) if 6.2 or below or Lockpick_RCM (https://github.com/shchmue/Lockpick_RCM) if 7.0 or higher. Once you get them rename the prod.keys file to keys.txt.
2. Download NSC_Builder (https://github.com/julesontheroad/NSC_BUILDER)
3. Extract it and put the keys.txt file into the ztools folder found in the NSC_Builder folder
4. Open the NSCB_Stable.bat, enter 2, drag & drop your XCI in the windows and enter, drag & drop the update and enter, enter 1, enter 2, enter 1, enter 7, choose a name for the new XCI and enter

It seems hard, but it's not actually. You'll get a new XCI with game + update patch to use it on 6.2. You can then put the XCI file onto your SD card and launch it from SX OS.

Regarding Goldealf and Tinfoil, yes these are the latest versions. But these two install games (only NSP for Goldleaf, NSP or XCI for Tinfoil).

But the guy says "You can use it on 7.x by bypassing the firmware check with Goldleaf or Tinfoil:"
So how I do that?

THnx for the explanation. I was aware of that method.
But don't want to use NSB_Builder because i have updated like 2 dozen games with 8.0 update. Don't wanna go through all that work again.
So either ill wait for a 8.0 SX OS. or some way to patch out 8.0 on the switch itself from the XCI. I just thought there might be an alternative to uctually rebuilding the XCI.

XCI is a copy of the cartridge. You mount it and launch the game. NSP is the format used on the eShop, you have to install games.

If you're ok to install NSPs, then choose your XCI in Blawar's Tinfoil and install it to bypass the firmware check. If you're not interested by NSPs and want to keep using XCIs, then you have to use NSC_Builder to rebuilt the XCI of Smash (or any game that require a higher firmware than the one installed on your Switch).
