Left 4 Dead creators Turtle Rock reveal new zombie co-op shooter called Back 4 Blood

One of the highest rated series of the last generation was two co-op shooters developed by Valve; Left 4 Dead and its sequel. Valve's own in-house studio, then called Valve South created the games, and would go on to be renamed Turtle Rock, after going independent and leaving Valve in 2010. Though Left 4 Dead was a huge success, their next major project, Evolve, was a critical and financial failure. Now. while Valve continues to fail to understand the concept of third entries for their games, Turtle Rock will be taking the opportunity to create somewhat of a spiritual successor to the Left 4 Dead series in the form of their newly announced game Back 4 Blood. Claiming to be returning to their roots, Back 4 Blood will be a zombie FPS with co-op multiplayer. taking elements from L4D and "modernizing" them. Though no release date was given, and the project appears to be early on in development, it'll be published by Warner Bros. and is slated for release on the Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4.

I do like local co-op. If they have that and do it on par with left4dead I am sure I will enjoy it, or the eventual game of the year edition with all the DLC.

How is L4D dumbass? It's awesome, c'mon. Yeah HL3 would be cool, but murdering things with firearms is always gonna sell better in the US.

Yeah, but I hope it doesn't turn out to be like Medal of Honor. Everyone liked Medal of Honor bc WWII. We don't want Iraq War. I do hope you're wrong though so badly.

So they want to make another left 4 dead, but we can't get a half life 3...

and coming from WB? just means that the pc release will be shit by default, and the game will want 4x the asking price in dlc and season passes, let alone the microtransactions because WB think everyone is just sitting on unclaimed mattresses full of money.

but HL3 would be much cooler

its dumbass cuz its just shooting hordes of zombies in the ass so ... i dont know we have every thing we can wish for in this genre section...
we can mod our L4D2 no limits here,so no L4D3 needed for me

I don't think it was the world war 2 setting that saw the first ones garner as much praise as they did. Good level design, interesting mechanics, good music, good pacing... all things that would have done just as well in a modern theatre, or indeed any game. Indeed as such things started to fall by the wayside the later world war 2 efforts also saw a drop off in general opinion on the franchise.

They looked at the sales of "Overkills The Walking Dead" and thought: You know what people now want is a zombie shooter with the option for payed DLCs

Personally, I wouldn't keep my hopes up until anything is released, considering this is the creators of Evolve and WB.

Funnily enough I saw something online recently about Valve trying to make L4D3.....only to stop due arguments over the engine.
