Like posts on groups

Right now an user can't post on a group it not belongs to, that's makes sense.

Now, if I can read a group post, why I can't like it without joining in?

Is there a technical reason or it is a staff decision?

I know that is too little to complain about, but there is lots of group that I dont have much business with (so I don't want make part of the said group), but sometimes a good read pops out and I can't give the OP a like.
