As for OP, Nintendo/GF/TPC can't own a genre (monster catching), regardless of if they're the ones that came up with it/started it or not. Same for the other franchises listed.
I guess one of the main criticisms towards Palworld is that many of the Pals look too similar to many of the Pokémon designs, and that is true, they could've gone more creative (and i don't see why not) but they didn't, i guess they wanted to play it safe?
