I pre-ordered this on Best Buy like two weeks ago. I already confirmed they have my copy there. I did the same for Tropical Freeze. Tropical Freeze is an amazing game by the way. Mario Kart is something my wife and I absolutely love.

Kids are playing it now , from what i see , its mariokart and nothing much more ,, feels like ive seen it all before , wasnt impressed with the handful of cars available / customisation. Tracks are new takes on old tracks so far , GFX are nice . not mind blowing just HD . On current track records of all games mario , its nothing more than you would expect... rehash revisited redone no wheels reinvented.

Traded in NSMBU at CEX . Bought Game from GAME got free WiiU protector kit .. aka Pen / scree tecktor / Gapepad case.

WindWaker D/l code in the bag :)

Bought it today and so far iv beaten all the tracks on 50cc and played a bit of 150cc. ill give you a nice quick list of pros and cons to the game so far:

Pros:
- The redesigns of the classic levels are fantastic and sometimes better than alot of the new tracks
- 1 item only allowed is a much better way of handling items and makes "racing" more fun
- I have had a mushroom and the super horn drop when i was in 1st place. 2 items i didnt expect to get there.
- All 3 new "weapons" items are good and work well in the game
- Handles perfectly well
- Online mode (from what little i have played) works lag-free, i didnt feel one single momment of lag or stuttering
- Graphics and framerate is 100% as far as im concerned, i feel no stuttering at ALL
- The replays are actually fun to watch if you fancy chilling out for a momment after a race finishes. A simple and nice added bonus.

Cons:
- Coin item drops way waaay WAY WAAAAAAAY too often, especially if you are first. Also lets go into more detail about how awful this item is:
>>> If you already have 10 coins, it will still drop.
>>> I have had a race where i got it EVERY single item box.
>>> It makes the goal of actually trying to race along parts of the level with coins pointless (the whole point of going the long-way route is to collect coins for speed)
>>> It makes staying in first place almost impossible againt human oppenents (WORSE than the blue shell)

...Ok im done. Other cons:
- Some of the new tracks arnt actually that interesting
- I personally dont like the music, i love the idea of doing a real band play the tunes but i dont think it works. (i would much rather the classic style music)
- Battle mode is bad, not AS bad as people make it seem but yeah, still bad. They tested a new idea, it didnt work. Lets hope they dont do it again.
- Whoever thought it was a good idea to have the default option after a race set to "view replay" instead of "next track" needs to be slapped.

Overall, good game but not a great game. id give it a 7/10.

Will be getting my copy next week, its been shipped already..but with super slow shipping speed.

Dont have many friends who have a wiiu so ill most likely be playing this with randoms from public matches.

We should set up some races on this thread, for friendly competition nothing too competitive.
Feel free to add me: Kingsora831.
Hope to see some of you next week on MK 8. :D

Mario Kart 6, 7, and 8 are all pretty similar gameplay wise. Previously there were big changes between them, none were alike. Introducing dumb things like tricks + bikes, gliders and anti-gravity doesn't count lol.

I only played 6 and 7 for a few weeks before I got bored of the style, so I'll probably pass on this, but watching streams of my friends playing it does kind of make me feel like buying a wii U.

I understand they want to even the playing field, especially now games are online, but the mini-turbo system is just boring.

Bitcoin on the other hand, requires a very powerful mining rig and is more costly.

Technically, cryptocurrencies aren't illegal, as long as you don't use it for criminal activity. If you sign up with an exchange, and that they get a tip from law enforcement, they have the right to freeze your assets.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, Yea I heard law is vastly different there
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Nigeria's central bank did make crypto illegal before, until last year they lifted the ban. Always make sure to check before you exchange. ;)

@SylverReZ, speaking of crypto i remember reading about a guy who spend like 10 grand bitcoin on a couple pizzas (when bitcoin wasnt as worthy as nowadays)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's mental. If he had saved up when Bitcoin sky-rocketed in price, then he might've become the next Jeff Bezos for all I know.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, he couldnt know the price was gonna skyrocket anyway
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Then it dropped sometime in 2022, 2021 was when it really went up in price.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, I also recall watching a video of some failed games with their own crypto currency or smth like that, lemme link it to you (it's in spanish tho)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, I remember that. Didn't Steam ban games with NFTs before somehow devs managed to circumvent it? Think EA tried to dabble in NFTs too.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Glad to hear people realise that NFTs aren't worth it these days. They realise that they're JPEGs hosted on a file-hosting site like AWS or Google Drive.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Atleast it has captions
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Meta also tried to create their own crypto, but that fell through.

@SylverReZ, idk why facebook tried to do that metaverse thing if mmo games already existed before
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
And Yea I refuse to call it meta
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, I refuse to call it Meta, too. It's a stupid name.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, then why did you call it like that a minute ago?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
I don't get why Facebook ever wanted to dabble into virtual reality, when other companies were doing it.
