Go beyond HDD mode and take the power of Gamindustri's CPUs to the next level in NEXT mode! Megadimension Neptunia VII hits North America and Europe in Early 2016, exclusively on the PlayStation 4 in both retail and digital formats. The first PS4 game in the Hyperdimension Neptunia series, this installment features new characters, three worlds to save and three stories to play, a new powerful transformation mode, extra features to the battle system, and a new dungeon minigame so you can get all the items you need for you and all of your new allies to save Gamindustri!

G.C. 2015 - Gamindustri has entered a precarious season known as the CPU Shift Period. During this time of social unrest, deprecating rumors about the CPUs have begun to saturate Gamindustri. Neptune and the others worry the citizens will soon call for new leaders to replace the them and that their rule will end.

In these critical moments for Planeptune, Neptune and Nepgear mysteriously disappear. Their destination: a divergent world, nearing its catastrophic end, called the Zero Dimension. They encounter the last remaining CPU of this world, Uzume Tennouboshi, who is desperately waging a lonely battle against a colossal evil known as the Dark CPU.

Will Neptune and Nepgear be able to work together with Uzume
in order to save Zero Dimension from tragedy? So begins a new adventure for Neptune...

It's not 7, It's Victory 2. Some of the main plot points branch off the True Ending for HDN Victory (Rebirth 3) as in a certain character in the True Ending plays a decent part in the game. This is technically the 4th game in the main line, though remember that HDN 1 is a self contained story so V II is the third in the current main plot line.

I played the Japanese demo (which should still still be up) and am quite glad this game finally has confirmation of localization.

No, it's Part 4.
Neptunia 1
Neptunia 2
Neptunia 3 Victory
Neptunia 4 V-II (Like Final Fantasy's X-2)
Interestingly, it's also the 7th released main game in the series if one includes the rebirth games.
Or perhaps just think of them as the "non spin-off" games.

Wait, they rebranded it to Megadimension? What?
Change is more reflective of the Japanese titles, Victory was called "Kami jigen" because it took place mostly in the (going by localization) "Ultradimension", whereas the titles for 1 and 2 was "Chou Jigen" and took place in the hyperdimension (even though the first two games are not technically connected).
VII is branded "Shin Jigen", but I'll say nothing of this game's content.

It's only because they're the Rebirth ports (Better versions of the PS3 games).
The Rebirth series' main difference comes through the rebirth system in them, I'd propose the PS3 games just had a slightly different gameplay focus and lesser longevity.
This game is more reflective of the PS3 games as far as I can tell.

Hmmm, hope we see a PC port because why not.
I'd rather hope for this game to have a rebirth counterpart somewhere down the line, but this one didn't sell too well in japan iirc. Porting to PC in lieu of that seems a practical decision if a rebirth doesn't happen.

Frozenindigo is pretty much correct in the reason for the name change. Victory 2 takes place in three different dimensions, and from what I read a couple weeks ago, was almost released in three segments.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."
