The game always crashes at Norion, after going up on the first elevator, killing the pirate and both robots, specifically once you approach the grapple laso door that needs to be ripped.

Is it a physical copy? Sometimes if a disc is scratched just right the game will run fine until it hits a certain point where it glitches out/crashes. If you’re using a rom copy, make sure it’s a full copy and not trimmed in any way (Prime 3 doesn’t work properly when trimmed from my experience)

Verify the hash of the wbfs file in WiiBackupmanager to make sure it's not corrupt.

Boy, that is one messy syscheck.. You need to update ios249 /250 & 251, follow the guide here or drop the generated .csv syscheck file into ModMii, it will tell you what to do..

Modmii only pointed me to update IOS 11,20,30,40,50, 52,60, 70 and 80.

and CIOS 251 to dx10 beta52

I put 249 as dx2-v8 because of an old rec from here suggested it as a way to fix the crash.

Seems the problem was that the dumps I had were trimmed, somehow.

You can install those wads if you want, but they're not related to your problem.

Not sure about that, i recommend installing the v10 version.

That's why the first thing i suggested was to verify the hash in WiiBackupmanager. If it's corrupt, of course it'll give you issues..

ya but I tried about 5 different dumps and I kept getting the same exact issue over and over again.

Given that 5 different .iso files (converted via Wii Backup Manager with no issues) I thought "all right, it might not be the .iso, but a damaged file"

I'll update to v10 tonight.

How i'm supposed to know that you went through that without you saying so?
Also, if you're sure it's not a wbfs file issue, then why did you say this? 👇

===
Anyway, if you're using usbloadergx, update to this version if you're not using it already.
If are you still encountering the same issue even after updating, try your luck with Wiiflow Lite.
Also forgot to ask what usb drive are you using to launch games from? Usb flash drive or external hdd?

Is it plugged into port 0? Are you using a y-cable? Since it's a 3.5" hdd it might need more juice to operate, not saying it's the root of your issue here..
No Y cable, but the enclosure came with an AC power cord which is plugged and the cable is indeed plugged to port 0.

Currently I managed to move from the Norion crash and so far no crashes.
