Just a heads up for those curious about Enhanced mGBA, but haven't tried it yet:

For CRT users, you're out of luck. There's no 240p output. This is understandable since it's a Gamecube port, but disappointing nonetheless. There's also a lot of clutter in the zip file with it wanting to dump 10 files into the root directory.

That's too bad, because modifying the palette for games with heavy color saturation is a novel idea. But as of now, it's just not meant for people with real TVs.

There definitely is 240p output, including 59.7276 Hz. Refer to Game Boy Interface's documentation.

Thanks for the info, Ex.

So, 240p is a hidden setting since Gamecube users can't use it? Makes sense. There was no readme included in the download and my web search (admittedly brief) didn't come up with anything. One more thing: Is there any way I can tuck those 10 root directory files into a subfolder by chance?

GameCube users definitely can use it. Heck, they have access to crazier video modes like 360p, 720i, 540p and 1080i.

The files on root are only there because there's no standard scheme for them.

The subset of options supported by Enhanced mGBA are now documented at: https://www.gc-forever.com/wiki/index.php?title=Enhanced_mGBA

That's awesome. Thanks for clearing that up.

I own a GC and didn't know that. Well, technically I own one, but I haven't used it in 10 years. That 360p mode sounds interesting.

Now that I know it does 240p, I'll definitely give it another go.:yaywii:

By the way, mGBA 0.7.3 has been released recently. There are some good fixes, although this time there's nothing specific for the Wii version.

and still no option to correct saturation or to load gb color palettes, are wii users doomed to buggy retroarch forever?

Hi all, i have a question about setting up emGBA. I am messing a bit with meta file, but i have a hard time to enable different layouts. It just shows the blue border, even when i change the layout id.

Here is an example of my meta file:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<app version="1">
<name>Enhanced mGBA</name>
<author>Extrems</author>
<version>2020-06-09</version>
<release_date>20200609215809</release_date>
<short_description>mGBA Game Boy Advance emulator</short_description>
<ahb_access/>
<arguments>
<arg>--filter=normal2x</arg>
<arg>--matrix=gbi</arg>
<arg>--scaler=oversample</arg>
<arg>--cursor=sd:/mGBA/point-srgb.tpl.gz</arg>
<arg>--overlay=sd:/mGBA/frame-srgb.tpl.gz</arg>
<arg>–overlay-id=5</arg>
<arguments>
</app>

Do i have to add a specific line to enable the meta options? Or does this meta contains a faulty line?

I think there is a mistake near the end, it should be "</arguments>", you are missing the "/". At least that's what I have and it is working for me.

Hey people, I just recently bought a gc loader + sd2sp2 + carby for my old gamecube and while Im still figuring out things I tried some emulators, vbagx is not that good running Gba games so I opted for emGba but the image is too blurry and I dont see anything in the settings to change the filter (vbagx has that option).
I downloaded the link from gc-forever but I just placed the .dol on my sd card since I dont know if everything has to go to work on my gamecube.

Id like to know if theres a way to make the image sharp instead of blurry since mGba has better performace than vbagx and Id like to keep using it, its just the blurry soft image is killing me.

    Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

    The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

    @Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

    They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

    It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.
