Microsoft reveals the Xbox Elite Series 2 Core controller

The Xbox Elite Controller family is growing, with the addition of the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 - Core, a mouthful of a name. It takes aspects from the exisiting Elite Controller 2, such as the adjustable thumbstick tension, trigger locks, and rubber grips, while omitting the interchangeable thumbstick styles, paddles, and d-pad, in order to put it at a lower cost. Currently, the Elite 2 retails for $179.99, while the Core will be priced at $129.99, though you can buy the "complete component pack" later on for $59.99. Available in only a white color scheme, the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 - Core will be out on September 21st.

I wish there was a version just without paddles

My monkey brain just can’t figure out how to not accidentally use them

They're mostly just throwing out marketing terms and customizability.
What kind of switches?
Analog Triggers?
Is it still using potentiometers?
Repairability?
Pro player feedback from fps and fighting game players?
Also, rubber wears off and gets sticky and super yucky over time. Is it exchangeable, that rubber grip?
Does it work with other consoles?

All I want is good sticks and dpad.

The price is damn ridiculous.

They should smell a big load. These "features", that are nothing more than gimmicks are nothing more than nothing that just justify the cost that is nothing more than a small fortune to play an expensive game on an expensive console.

I love being a retro gamer.

Are the prior Elite controllers any larger than the standard ones? If this thing is made for baby hands like standard Series controllers are, it's a huge nope.

You take your credit card and swip it between Microsoft's butt cheeks & you get shit. Expect any better?

I must say I LOVE the Elite controllers, I just hope they addressed the flimsy stick issues.
For a 150 quid controller, I expect the sticks to hold up thrice as long as stock one but if the PS5's 1000h on sticks is anything to go by..

Add to that the fact the Series 2 controller is an absolute joke in terms of reliability, with several manufacturing faults.

@Xdqwerty there is health behaviour you can add to your character, then to use a health bar is lil more complicated, google n watch a few tutorial video on it, be too hard to explain here.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, the character has the health behavior
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I know you have to create a health and health max variable. Then there is a calculation you use in code to subtract width size of the health bar. Google few vids.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, the "greenflatbar" is one of the preset health bars btw
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea you can use any bar/sprite. It will just change the width. Ok good luck and have fun. I'm off to go shoot some pool at the bar. Talk to you later.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, why does the health behavior exist if you can just use a variable?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
and nope the number still doesnt change

ok im gonna make my own asset
