Modder adds wireless charging to the Nintendo Switch Lite

switch lite.JPG

In case you missed it back in October, YouTuber and hardware modder Robotanv modded the Switch Lite to include Qi wireless charging. With a Qi wireless charging receiver and some soldering, Robotanv could fairly easily upgrade the handheld with this feature. You can watch the 4-minute video below where he also explains the upgrade process should you want to try the hack yourself:

Not a bad idea. Yes a good idea.

If the "sandwich" OLED had this, the asking price could be justified.

Other then sayin "AHH COOL" whats the point of Mod. Whenever I charge my switch its usually as I play. So having it wirelessly won't work for me..

I play for a bit, then put it down to charge so it's full charged for next session. I'm not really into wireless charging but I guess it could work for my scenario.

Oh, this is great. I've always wanted dust to collect on my screen while it's charging. Now my dream can be a reality!

I remember watching a guy on YouTube replacing Micro USB with USB-C in a DualShock 3 controller.

Meaning, if you know what you're doing then it's mods a lot would wish to have, too.

I did this about two weeks ago, and it eventually caused issues with charging if the console was fully dead, as in the example picture below.

It wouldn't accept charging from a USB cable at all in this state; I was forced to charge it wirelessly to get it to boot to the HOME Menu. I checked and no pins were bridged.
