I don't get how at any point in the day there would only be 6.5k on MW2 multiplayer.

I would show you the forum post on the STEAM forums of why, but they're down for maintenance. But that's exactly the reason.

Referring to your PC... It may not be strong enough for modern shooters, so you can go back a decade. The game, at times, has more people playing it then MW2 does. (A game that's a decade old competing with a brand new game, hah).

The catch is, MW2 PC was generally seen as a controversial port by online PC gaming standards for using a matchmaking system. L:et's wait for stats for Black Ops, which will use dedicated servers as per the standard.
