I have some issues with my various MH save files.
I have a character on my MHXX save file but I also have another character I have been playing on MHGen on the save file for that game.
Now, I know there’s a MHX/Gen save file manager that lets you move single characters to/from MHX, MHGen(EU) and MHGen(US).
But then, as far as I know, when you start MHXX and select to move an existing MHX character to MHXX, the whole save file in MHXX gets erased; in other words, you can’t select your MHX character to be transferred in a specific character slot on MHXX save file: the file gets erased and the data from MHX character is then imported into MHXX.
I now have already “injected” my MHGen character into MHX but now I’m stuck. Is there a way I can keep my already existing MHXX character and import the MHX one in a different character slot in MHXX without wiping MHXX save data, thus losing my native MHXX character?
Moreover, I’m using English patch on MHXX, but can’t quite understand the two options you are given when importing a MHX character data. The first, I quite get it: take the character as it is and transfer everything you have on it, apart gametime and some DLC quests rewards. The second option is translated as you could transfer BACK from MHXX to MHX, but I know that should not be possible and the description says something very different, something like starting from scratch with that character in MHXX, bringing some elements from the MHX save file with it, but I don’t quite get what does that mean. Is it that all the quests and things unlocked (cat cuisine recipes, weapon/armor crafting recipes, hunter arts, etc.) are reset and you don’t get all you have in your stash but just a few bonus items according to that character current point in the MHX game? Can someone elaborate on the two options here, please?
