OK, so I have been wondering about this for a while......
As you can see in the Images below, the possible Storage Options are

2 PCIe Slots (3rd Slot does not have a Connector Slot and Securing Hardware)
1 2.5 HDD section

1 PCIe Slot (Horizontal) is marked for either SATA 3.0 (2 Tabs on the Connector which is M+B Keys), or a PCIe 3.0 x4 (NVMe which only has a M Key)
The other PCIe Slot (Vertical) is only for the PCIe 3.0 (NVMe).
The other Slot if I can get a Connector Installed to it, would only be able for SATA PCIe.

So my Question is - If I get the other Card Slot Installed, would it be possible to utilize all 4 Storage Options? According to the BIOS, it should be possible, but I would have 2 other Spots (which I am wondering about)

OK.....I Installed a Samsung 860 EVO SSD 2TB - M.2 SATA Internal Solid State Drive with V-NAND Technology (MZ-N6E2T0BW)

Card is being Detected in the BIOS, but in Computer Management, under Storage Devices, it is NOT showing up.

A pic showing the actual drives plugged in would help work out what you’re doing.

I’m assuming you’ve got the Samsung SATA M.2 drive on the right, Crucial MX500 on the left and Crucial P1 NVMe on the right?

Which one isn’t showing in Windows?
Have you tried opening cmd and running Diskpart, then List Disk?

Apparently doing a Memory Diagnostic fixed why it was not being shown. There were no Errors, but when I got back to Windows and went to Computer Management / Disk Management, it came up for Initializing it.
@squee666 - According to Samsung, Drivers should not be needed
@Originality - Attached Picture. will Post another in a bit.

Definitely got them the right way round. It’s a bit weird MSI cheaped out by not putting the last connector in...

Since you got it to initialise, it’s working now, right?
Yes. Works perfectly.

Went to Fry's Yesterday to the Repair Department. From what I was told, it would have to be Soldered on (duh!), but even if I put it on, there would be no promise that it would work..........but what about the BIOS Storage Screen????? There are 2 Empty SATA Slots and 1 Empty PCIe Slot. Going to have to experiment a little.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.
