Musk famously co-founded openAI (the team behind chatGPT) in 2015 and left its board in 2018

Since that time he founded a new venture, xAI with a team of former Google and Microsoft AI experts

In order to showcase that he is really obsessed with the letter x, he has named the new company xAI (cf. SpaceX and X)

The AI space is becoming increasingly crowded and it remains to be seen whether this new product can really take off - can it compete with bingAI and bard?

There are instances where he manipulates the platform known as Twitter and constantly criticizes others for their takes about him, many only care about what he does instead of focusing on his negativity.

AI is this decade's streaming. A lot of other companies will join and try to pitch their own AI solutions, and at some point there will be a "golden age" of generative AI. But very much like streaming, only one or two companies will last at the end due to rising costs of operation/low return of investments; general public and business just settling on one big AI solution and they stick to that; government regulations; companies abandoning AI to pursue a new FAD.

Some models are open source and can be used by anyone, smart business will create their own models that fit their brand. I imagine Disney would train their own AI instead of hiring some AI firm instead. And if Windows 12 does come with generative AI tools, I wonder what's left to xAI and other aspiring AI firms besides being hired to mass produce and promote fake news.
