It either freezes at bootup deleting everything off of it, causing me to have to reformat it, freezes when I start a game, or freezes in the middle of playing a game. It's really annoying

Well, this could be from a bad microSD. Have you tried a different SD?
Or, format the microSD with Panasonic SD Formatter.
