Besides. Most PS1 games run fullspeed with a 1.5ghz overclock.

A dynarec would be even better And it might be possible to use this dynarec as a base for one for the PS1.

If they each had a dynarec then yes. But this one is only for the Nintendo 64.

I dont understand how a switch overclock doesnt damage the internals it already is like a small heater....

It's CPU is designed to run at 2ghz, so these "overclocks" are still technically an underclock
Also most of the heat comes from the GPU

So when playing switch games it runs at 2ghz? Or it technically can run at 2 ghz? If the latter then how is Nintendos silicon lottery QA, and that could be the reason why games dont use the full 2ghz.

The Nvidia Tegra X1's CPU is designed to run at 2ghz, but Nintendo runs it at 1ghz. I'm guessing they run it at 1ghz to increase the battery life a little bit and to lower the temps by a little bit

EDIT: also with the "overclocking" you can get it upto 1.75ghz, you likely won't notice any difference in battery life or temps at 1.5ghz and below, but at 1.75ghz you may notice a small difference

Interesting, but how is nintendos cooling solution compared to the shield/other tegra systems, form factor could be a major factor in them under clocking too.

Btw, im sure people already have discussed this, I just have nothing better to do.

This reminds me I need to resume getting my money's worth on my Everdrive 64 purchase. IMHO legit hardware is the only way to go with the N64.
