nds-bootstrap:

Thanks to the work of ahezard, Gericom, Apache, Robz8, _catcatcat, and shutterbug2000 and other contributors, we can now load NDS games from the SD card, without any flashcard/SLOT-1 card.

Don't expect high compatibility, but do expect many, many updates.

Well the games i tested that do boot and play to some degree are:
call of duty:modern warfare and call of duty:modern warfare mobilized
Star Wars Battefront: Elite Squadron
And Guilty Gear Dust Striker.
The games that I tested that play at full speed are the Sonic Rush E3 Demo.
Unfortunately any hacks of sm64ds and Mario kart ds (retail game and kiosk demo) fail to load. I wonder why though.

I just loaded the rom with twloader using the default settings with Mario kart ds as the donor rom. And they boot to the title screen but that's about it.

You might want to look for the flashcart versions of specific romhacks. The normal versions sometimes messes with parts of the rom that emulators don't need in order to play the game.

Could you provide some more context about this? I never really heard of flashcard versions of certain romhacks/Roms before.

But now when I select a option the menu icons have a blue outline and the game I assume freezes.

yes it was released only in Japan.
In fact there is only one game on kuroshitsuji for ds and it's a visual novel game for ds complete with voice acting, however it does not boot yet with the latest bootstrap.
