howdy yall! I'm in need of a bit of help, I've been having a rather strange problem
(also this is my first time posting here, sorry in advance for any shenanigans I may somehow cause)

So basically when launching a forwarded game, the sound get a tad er- wonky. There's audio crackles around specific pitch frequencies (Ex.with crash cymbals, or chimes ringing it seems.) At first I thought it was a TWLoader issue or a even hardware problem, however, when I launched the same titles on TWL Menu++, the audio was perfect! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(also-also, Rob, I have no clue how you do it, but your work is just amazing! Thanks for everything you've done, seeing how TWLoader, now TWiLight Menu++ has grow and what it can do is just aw-inspiring, admittedly, it makes me wonder if you even sleep sometimes but, thanks Rob! :))

I've forwarded a few titles but not all of them have this problem it seems, Ex. Game&Watch Col. seems to be fine, but this may be because some games never play anything with those specific pitches. Pokemon Black and Black 2 have the crackles, so does Lego Battles... I've tried changing a few things here and there, to see if it was just a setting that was the cause, but no dice, I've tried,
  • Running the CPU at different clock speeds (yeah idk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
  • Swapping sound freq.
  • Running in different Sys modes (DS mode, DSi mode)
  • Turning on/off video ram boost ( I know, I know, ... I was getting despite ok? lol ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
Aaaand before I forget, I'm running TWiLight Menu++ Ver. 15.3.0 with nds-bootstrap Release Ver. 0.35.1, on a N2DsXL running firm Ver. 11.13.0-45 with Luma3Ds Ver. 10.1.3

Well anyhow, any and all help is greatly appreciated! Take care yall! :D

Unfortunately, the only solution is to use TWiLight Menu++.
The reason on why those sound issues happen is not known.

Hello, I've had CFW on my 3ds for a long while now for custom home screen themes and other stuff, but having DS games on my home screen is definetely what I want to do next as i've been wanting to play all the pokemon games lately. I followed all the steps, and it didn't work the first time so I did it again and thought I went through everything right but I got the error where the top screen is black and the bottom screen is white. I know it tells you how to fix the issue in the first post but I did that and still got the same result. Do I have to delete and reinstall stuff completely for that solution to work cause all I did was use the Forwarder program a second time and made sure the .nds file was inside the 3ds SD card. Help would be very appreciated, my friend and I want to compete against each other in Pokemon HeartGold.

I've been having a strange problem as well. So when I attempt to load one of my DS games, the top screen turns white and the bottom screen turns into something akin to a file selector? But everything I try to press/open, nothing happens. Am I missing some part of the bootstrap or did I do something wrong in my steps? Please let me know!

Thanks!

Are you trying to load from a flashcard, or the console's SD card?

So, definitely worked, I feel like an idiot. So everything seems to work except for Tony Hawk's American Sk8land. Any reason as to why?

Also thank you for being one of the biggest homies ever.

Darn. Unfortunate that it is a one-of in this situation, but no big deal. Thank you for all your info and support. Will reply or comment if I have problems with anything else involving this or the (many) other things you've done for us all. Thank you, my dude.

Psi those play well on the Pi5 now...
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
@Xdqwerty yep that's what I use my stick for most anymore, streaming tv shows, movies. or even youtube. Or doing kens mum.

RG Cube is going to be good for ps2 if it's $100

@BigOnYa, and since the default emulator is below average i downloaded some "replacements" like snes9x for snes games for example

And I also have my ps3

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea ps3 is a beast still to today compared to most "sticks"
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
If you just want pi for emulation no point when Anbernic releases new shit every two seconds
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
What's really cool about Pi's tho is you can have multiple SD cards with different OS on each SD card and change from say a gaming machine to a full fledged pc if wanted
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Plus all bios are set up and usually includes at least 128gbs or 64
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah but if your main goal is just to play n64 and GameCube you can save about $50 and have the portability option
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
True, but on 2 monitors at 4k. Its just want you want really, to each they own.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
For a kids aspect Anbernic would be the better option they'd probably melt over the price on a good 4k display

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
For that texasroo guy, I'd recommend the Spell and speak as his first system.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
So they buy a pi5 kit for about $150 and say a 28" 4k display probably looking around $400 total
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They'll be getting in the territory of portable Pcs anyway
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Again you get what you pay for, its like buying a S series for $300 but its only 1440p native, if you want true 4k, gotta get the X model for $500. But yea you right, when moms buying it anyways, you gotta stay cheap.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They could use HD out on their TV no real need for a monitor these days tbh the purists will disagree
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I'm kind of phasing out on the need for wanting all these consoles cool to have but they just become dust build ups
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I here ya there, I have too many myself, and have hard time letting them go, since most of mine I've modded at some point. Anymore I just play Switch on the go, seriesx at home.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    ack my throat
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I need to invest in some storage totes tbh
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Tots?
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Tootles
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Tootles? Etc
