Need Help Gamepad works but not on the homescreen

I'm unsure what the cause of this is as it was working fine then suddenly after I couldn't use the touch A,B etc ... Not working on homescreen but the L & R work to navigate but directional pad etc ... Won't work but if I press X it will swap the screens to the TV and oddly enough all buttons work fine on gamepad just not when homescreen is on the gamepad.

If Homescreen is on the TV I can move camera with directional pad zoom in and out etc ... But tried pairing it also to my other Wii U and oddly couldn't do the symbols because of the touch there's no dents or anything to the screen and cleaned it really well but no luck.

Any Advice would be welcomed also can some Content I had put on my SD card cause this at all?

I have multiple wiiU and gamepads, I don't think is related to what is on sd, I can easily interchange one to another, but it seems a gamepad can keep information from the last wiiU it was connected before. Sometime, you can clean the gamepad by resetting the console to which the gamepad is connected. Didn't understand what you meant by "there's no dents"....
Even after a lot of tests, still think the wiiU Gamepad has still a lot of mistery of it works. Have you had the latest update?

I haven't updated to 5.5.6 hasn't shown up for me in UK there's no physical damage to screen it just gets odd input issues as if screen is being touched

Hi, Did you tried after a reset or with another gamepad?
There is also a homebrew that can test gamepad if I remember.
