OR you can't find one in store :creep:

Yeah and the emulators from Nintendo aren't even that great or even compatible compared to unofficial (superior) ones.
the one in dk64 is perfect

They messed up the audio, it uses linear and not the regular N64 audio filtering, even Extrems admitted Not64 uses the same stupid linear audio.

Wii U VC https://filetrip.net/dl?K6QoC2uKOa
Real N64 https://filetrip.net/dl?r6wwd6QDbD

You can hear the wind instruments experiencing distortion in the fourth and fifth notes. This is not how real N64 hardware sounds as I've played the real thing, so yeah. Nintendo screwed the pooch on this front. Every other emulator gets it right with LLE (low level emulation) audio, so.......

I'll display the linear interpolation on a spectrogram if I have to.

game plays smoother than any emu i've tried (and doesn't crash at random) and plays faster than the original n64 too. that's ALL i care about.

Runs fine on PJ64 with the Glide64 plugin. I've been playing on PC emulators for a while without any issues, so, Nintendo's emulator isn't the only one that plays the game. *Shrug* I'm complaining because emulators should get it close as possible. Is that too much to ask? For a company that has access to documentation, you'd think accuracy would be priority instead of "enough to get the job done".

Not sure what specs or emulator you've been using, but DK64 runs fine on my PC.

'Cause Nintendo is supposed to create the best emulators possible since it's their own freaking console

i agree, phone games with on screen controls are fucking dog shit.
They're barely any good to play turn-based games like Pokémon and Earthbound

Press ? Which site ?
And why you in particular (they could have contacted derrek or yellows8 directly lol)
Some thought I discovered this in the first place lol
(Kotaku and CNET, but still, applaud them for actually asking me about it, that's actual journalism work. I get the moment to correct them :D)

I may have some additional info on this I'm just going to copy paste this paragraph I made.

Hey I have something really important regarding the NES emulator on the Nintendo Switch. I had this really odd experience with my switch that when I had left and returned to it, NES Golf was on my screen. I played it and it played normally, but it was night time for me so I wasn't thinking about the importance of this. I went to do some research on this and I didn't find anything about it until I looked at what was discovered by the modding community. They found this "'Flog' NES emulator. Installed on retail systems but not known to be launched by anything currently." I believe that "Flog" is simply "Golf" backwards and I had somehow caused it to launch. Now this is entirely your choice to believe me or not, I totally blame myself for not recording any of it and since it happened randomly to me, I do not think I can repeat this myself.

tl;dr I somehow activated NES Golf and I believe "flog" to be "golf" but backwards

Exactly what I do.
Emulators on phones themselves, I use them only for RPGs which are turn based.
I have all main Pokemn and Mother games in there.

Playing any FPS or precision-heavy platformer on a phone is just plain stupid and really uncomfortable.
Also, buying a controller for it is not appealing to me.
Unless I have a phone with a huge-ass screen and some octacore processor or some shit like that, it's uncomfortable.

To me, there's a certain beauty in having a proper console/handheld hacked with multiple emulators.
Do I have the itch to play on my TV?
Wii U got me there.
Do I go on vacations or have a long trip ahead?
N3DS (and Switch hopefully in the near future) have my back there as well.

Going for the phone alternative is cheap, yeah, but I find enjoyment and gain some knowledge about the console in the hacking progress. More so if I get to enjoy my entire Nintendo library of games in just one console itself.

@SylverReZ, the other game where I found newgrounds is new york shark

Spoke to Tom Fulp the other day, if he can find his old Newgrounds site content like the mini Flash animations from the 2000's that played on the portal.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
So far no response, but he did say that he'll find them. Wayback Machine doesn't have em.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, atleast the 1999 versión of pico's school is avaliable (the difference between it, the 2006 versión and the 2016 versión is that the speed of the game depends of the speed of your computer and that it had the og soundtrack)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Another being Pico VS Bear, the original 1999 version before Jim Henson filed a DMCA takedown.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
The 2006 versión was made when the flash portal was made
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Many people thought it was lost, but was discovered that he hid it on the same page.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, although the "secrets" system where the game was has been removed. Also pico vs uberkids had a netplay versión that was shutdown, although the swf file has been found
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Nope. There are two download buttons on the same page, where you can download the original under a file called "bear.exe". "bear2.exe", however, is the updated game in a Flash projector. P.s. this was on the archived Pico page from 2000.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's been there for a long time, too. People who search for lost media don't look hard enough lmao.

@SylverReZ, also the pico 2 demos used to be only for the newgrounds patrons but they are on internet archive too (https://archive.org/download/picos_school_2)

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
Iirc the demos were removed from newgrounds in 2022
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, or well only the demo with mindchamber's style was on newgrounds

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
Fun fact @SylverReZ: iirc one of the goals on the fnf Kickstarter stated that pico 2 would be finished but the Kickstarter didnt get enough money for that goal to be fullfiled
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, FNF sucks, their community is toxic as hell.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@SylverReZ its a single player game
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@The Real Jdbye, Yea but it has a shitton of mods with their own songs and stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@The Real Jdbye, and quite a lot of people involved in those mods get cancelled
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Newgrounds wasn't the birth of FNF; rather, it was games where you beat up celebrities and parodies.
