Hardware New 3DS setup - Pre-modding

Greetings ladies and gentlemen!
After ruining my O3DS in an attempt to hardmod (as some of you may know), i've bought myself a new 3DS, running version 9.0.0
As eager as I am to get started onto Arm9LoaderHax, i'm hesitant for a few reasons (beyond "brand new shiny thing, must keep pristine")

1. I want to system transfer, but my O3DS is useless, but I presume Ninty's customer support can at least transfer my ID to the N3DS so I can keep my purchases and such.
Question: Can I still start hax, and Ninty set up my Nintendo ID?

2. Due to buggering up the old one, and presuming I dont "need" to hardmod the N3DS, is it recommended to do so before A9LHax? (especially since running 9.0.0)

3. Question: Even with BSOD, is it possible to transfer all of my data from the O3DS to the N3DS without Ninty?

Yes, ask them to do it after you've got a9lh sysnand all set up and running.

Recommended to do what? If you're softmodding it you dont need to touch hardmods unless you briiick. Just make a nand backup as soon as you can.

How would I make a NAND backup without hardmodding? I know how to do it hard, since that was my 11.0 O3DS's only option to downgrade, but not any other way.

I think it's covered in the guide, but I assume you would just load the homebrew launcher and run a tool like decrypt9 or emunand9, since you're on 9.0 it should work.

Should I just start fresh with a new microSD for the N3DS, or is it plausible to use the old one?

You can use the old one but all your games and save data will not work.
I would advise just starting with an empty SD card to avoid complications.
