Gaming New Copy Protection?

So it turns out "Major.League.BaseBall.2K9.USA.READNFO.XBOX360-x360inT" The latest 360 release has some weird 3rd video wave data on it which wont allow it to work on any ixtreme frimwares at the moment.

hate to be the grp to bring you bad news but this info needs to be rls'ed to the scene 
people need to know there is gonna be probs with new games.
I've included all the info we have found and also forwarded the 
info and the rls to the stealth and fw teams.


Basically,

We have security features in the modded fw we use.
these features make sure that the PFI and Video are from Wave 1 or Wave 2
this was done to insure games not burnt right or with the data missing 
wouldn't boot and lead to bannings.

When we used the program we all use to check our games we noticed that 
MLB 2K9 Had a new pfi and Video A so called 3rd wave.

The only way we could get the game too boot was by rolling back our mod to 1.41 non stealth on a benq

Not too much can be done about this untill we see another new game to see if this is the new way or what
there is question if they fucked up and its just mlb 2k9 like this..

with my extractor and maximus spear and lite-on only creates IX15 FW inet safe fw guess I am lucky....... it's a new arcade
system nov 08 guess the lite-on can handle it hmmm....

It doesn't have to be broken, they just have to change some checks in the FW, so it doesn't think this is a bad rip.

If you have firmware ixtreme 1.41 NO STEALTH for benq and old firmware extrem 5.2 for samsung ms28 and ms25 it work

But if you have a STEALTH firmware not work

Please, PLEASE.... Don't do this shit to Resident Evil 5. I don't really care about any other game, just don't fuck me over with Resident Evil 5! :< Especially since I can't/don't know how to flash my 360... so if anew firmware is released to avoid these games, I won't be able to update.

Really nowadays theres no harm in reverting back to an old non stealth extreme if you run your releases through abgx first.

Oh and aparently HAWX also has this new 3rd wave video partition too. *Dont fuck us over by doing this on RE5*

I read that this is not a security measure. 360 games are being released with the nxe update on them now and the video partition is the only place they could fit it. I don't know if that is true. But, all we have to do is wait for iX 1.6 which shouldn't be long.

yes just return on a 1.41 no stealth for Benq or a old extrem 5.2 for samsung and its working but not secure for the Live i agree

I cant flash my drive, ive got a laptop and wouldnt know where to start. Plus its gunna cost me 20 to get it redone by sum1 else.

I'm still on the old xtreme 5.3 on my samsung, so I'll be fine (don't use live). Wouldn't recommend it if you use live though, even if you run through abgx first. There's been other adjustments made to the firmware, not just blocking non-stealth games, something to do with jitter was changed (no idea what for), also only ix1.4 and up take care of the ss angle >359 thing, older firmwares don't and return an invalid one.

Hitachi iXtreme 1.5 (including 3rd Wave fix) is scheduled to be released this or next week aswell as iXtreme 1.6 for all other drives. C4 said this on IRC.

new games are coming out with the nxe update on the disc
and the only place microsoft could put it was in the video partition
now, old firmwares and games didnt always have a video partition, so when ixtreme was made, they got it to check the video partition
and if its crc didnt match wave 1 or wave 2, then the game wouldnt boot
now, this is wave 3, so ixtreme wont boot new games
if you need to boot the game, then flash to xtreme or non-stealth firmware
or wait for 1.6
