I would have to say that as long as the 360 still uses the xclamp then the chance of a RROD or in my case an E74 can happen. Granted, if the chip is the falcon then it may run cooler and may not heat to the point of breaking a solder joint, but the way that damn clamp presses on the board is just not ok. It is well worth getting a 360 dispite this issue as it is easy enough to fix on your own if RROD does happen. I know it should not be up to us to fix, but sometimes that is the price to pay to actually play good games but don't want to send it back (if you have modded FW). I mean a lot of good games and not just a handfull.

No the really new ones may be RRoD proof, but only time will tell for sure.

RRODs are the only thing keeping me from buying a 360.. a 360 in Brazil is too expensive, I would buy one outside of the country, but if I do that, I have no M$ warranty.. :/

Instead of buying a PS3 over the 360, you people should consider buying a better computer with a good video card.. almost every 360 game is getting a Windows version, you don't need to worry about a RROD, and if you don't like playing with your keyboard, the 360 controller works on PC..

Lol, Ze, that was the joke. You said that anything the 360 can do the PS3 can do better, and he was saying that that's not true, the 360 would be a much better heater (due to the heat it outputs).

Well after reading some stuff about the new Xbox 360(since i dont have one myself but getting 1) they say the new Xbox 360 was put in a new Falcon chip or something and the old one was replaced. And they added something called a Heatsink(which i dunno wut it is). And if you add like $20, you can buy a Fan. Its an extra Fan to put on you 360.

I think they are actually. The new falcon chipset ones that just came out run at like 30watts less power so they don't get as hot and they have bulked up heatsinks. here's how to find one:

I seriously doubt that they are RROD proof (new tarantino movie anyone?) but they will still run better than the existing 360's and yes the ps3 dosnt get anywhere near as hot as the 360 but sony did have more time to get the ps3 right! Ive just bought another 360 so once again im neutral....
