Hello!

I have a Nintendo switch that turns off when I plug in a charger.

I decide to open the switch to see what’s happening, plug in the charger and the console turns off and the inductor start to burn.

Change the inductor

Check the M9 and BQ and no shorts, still decide to change and the same problem.

Check and Change the USB C port and the same.

Any idea what’s happening here?

The Charger it’s original and works well on another consoles.

The burning inductor is likely the result of something else causing a short.
Afaik, caps around the M92T36 and BQ can also go bad and short. These caps might not be in the regular power rails.
Also, when you plug in the adapter, the charging circuit will first use 5V to charge and then switch quickly to 15V.
So at that point the M92T36 might short something.
It might be the M92T36 itself that has some internal short.
