Why in the compatibility list people says that the Widescreen patch doesn't work in the resident Evil games due to the background prerendered images?
The game seems almost identical to my Native Widescreen Ps3 remastered:

It's not compatible with any of the RE games that use prerendered backgrounds.
First off, what version of Nintendont are you using?
I need to know because there were some changes to the Widescreen patches for those games in a recent revision.

Revision 5.485.
I can try and take some screenshot from Re Remake in Nintendont and Ps3 too.

The Widescreen patches are NOT applied in revisions 5.464 and onwards to any of the RE game with prerendered backgrounds (RE Code Veronica and RE4 do not count since those are full 3D), even if you have Widescreen ON. This was hardcoded in the Widescreen exceptions code from Nintendont.
What you are seeing now is only the stretched 4:3 image.

If you want more detail as to why this was done, check my Pull Request on GitHub:

Understood, but the stretched 4:3 image doesn't seems so different from a true Widescreen compared to the Ps3.
But is probably my fault and I'm blind :D

Perhaps RE Zero and REmake are not that noticeable, mainly because they are more hi-res.
However, when playing RE2 and RE3, it does show. :P

Anyway, glad you are enjoying those games, and that even with the stretched image they still look damn good :)

Off course I'm still enjoying them!
I was a day one owner of the GC in 2002 (Pal version) and when the Nintendo-Capcom Deal was announced I was like in heaven, the old RE are my favourite games.

Coming back to Nintendont stuff, the problem with the Widescreen was the the 3d objects where "out of place" with the Widescreen?

Now I'm curious, I'm going to load Resident Evil 2-3 and see how they are stretched.
BTW why Re4 is added too to the exception? Isn't a full 3d game?

EDIT: nevermind about Re4, I don't know why I read Re4 instead of 3 Nemesis in the pull request.

Feel ya, I have all of the RE titles for the Gamecube (0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and CV) still in their case and all, pristine conditions :P

The problem with the Widescreen for games that use prerendered backgrounds is that, when you stumbled upon another 3D object, for example the shields in the REmake dinning room, or some other stuff, the 3D objects were not aligned with the backgrounds.
You would see the shield moved a bit to the right or to the left, and this happened to all the 3D objects that you encountered in the game, none of them were aligned with the backgrounds.

As for Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica X, since those are all 3D with no prerendered backgrounds, they do have fully functional widescreen capabilities :)
Those two are NOT included in the exception list, so you can play those two with proper widescreen coding :)

Yeah, I edited the post it was my mistake.

Having these games (with Twin snakes too, even if is a different kind of game) exclusively for your console in a time where everyone owned a PS2 made me proud of having a GC!

Gotta agree, I went with the Gamecube at the time, and I am happy I went that way, as seeing in retrospective the PS2 didn't have that many games that interested me back in the day (perhaps only Silent Hill)

Wait a moment. There were some big changes in the Nintendont progressive patch too?
Now Resident Evil 2 Pal version boots with the patch enabled.

It is possible to have a Unique path for saves?
I will explain, sometimes I play games trough Nintendont injected because I wanna play off TV, and then the saves are read from the SD (cause Nintendont create the save in the same device of the game), but I cannot store all of my games in the SD.
Then when I play other games on the TV with Nintendont not injected with games stored in the USB the saves are read from the USB, and then I don't have the same saves that I have on the sd.
How can I fix this?

I believe that is not possible.
You have to store the saves on the same device the game is located.
At least I think that's how it works, you cannot have a game on USB and have its saves be read on SD, and viceversa.
I think it has something to do with how the Nintendont kernel works, once it mounts a specific device, you cannot mount the other.

Ok, then if I want to copy quickly my ninmen.raw save file without putting my SD from WIIU to PC and then back to WiiU can I use Wiixplorer?
I don't use it from the Wii times so I don't know if it's vWii compatible or if I need a specific version.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
