Mod that changes target framerate to 60 FPS. Made for yuzu by theboy181, I have ported it to hardware.
Changed handheld resolution from 1152x648/1024x576 to 960x540/854x480 based on info from 1080p mod made by M&M for yuzu.

Both original mods can be found here:
https://github.com/yuzuMods/yuzuMods/tree/master/mods/paper-mario-the-origami-king

Recommended OC settings:
Code:
handheld_charging_cpu=1785
handheld_charging_gpu=768
handheld_charging_mem=1600

Only to use in handheld mode.

Game without enough GPU power drops to 30 FPS and slows down twice.

Known issues:
- Prerendered videos have issues with vsync synchronization, so frames are jumping.
- Menu is double speed
- Perfect Jumps and Hammer time windows are halved (or just animation time is halved, while time window is untouched)

It works only with version 1.0.0

Copy folder exefs_patches to sdcard folder

atmosphere
or
reinx
or
sxos

And restart Switch.

Edit: I have uploaded wrong IPS. If you had crash, download mod again.

Updates:
21.07.2020: fixed text speed in dialogues - thx to @Kirby567fan

Here you can also download mod removing sharpening filter. It was made by M&M for yuzu, I have ported it to IPS.

It makes image cleaner.

Only for 1.0.0

Can you make a 1280x720 patch for handheld mode and can the sharpening filter be reduced or can it only be toggled? The sharpening in this game is definitely too aggressive, but it could use a little sharpening as the image quality is very soft.

The sharpening filter can probably be adjusted, I just don't know where to adjust it. I can probably look into it at some point.

Hey I found a bug while using 60fps mod. In Fire Vellumental Cave I wasn't able to run faster than the falling birds in the final path and I lost a lot of mushrooms. I deleted mod and I made it the first time. So be careful in Fire Vellumental Cave and disable mod.

Thnx you very much for this, I actually used your files and modified then. Took me a little of time because I had no idea how to invert ips patch files. But I ended doing a IPS without the resolution reduction and also a 60/30 fps cheat file ( for me this work better because in some areas where the game bug or slowdown appears we can change it to regular fps on the go).

@masagrator Do I need a patch, or how do I get the 720p fixed in handheld mode? :)

Look in 60 FPS patch. One line is responsible for text speed in dialogues. Delete everything else and you will have 2x speed text in 30 fps.
Thanks, I tried each patch from the IPS in turn and didn't find the right one, maybe the effect wasn't obvious enough, at least while talking to the trees.

I noticed when you talk to someone (eg. a tree) for a second time, so they repeat themselves, pressing a button makes the text stop appearing gradually and all come at once. It would be awesome if someone found a patch to turn that on for all dialogue the first time round.

Eh, enjoying the game so far, but like with most RPGs, I don't like being taken out of the main gameplay to deal with annoying battle systems. Will see how I get on.

Thanks for the mod.

Unfortunately, it breaks the game quite a bit. It happened 3 times so far.

In overlook tower when you're waiting for a ladder to come down while it's raining missiles, the ladder never comes down. It rains indefinitely

In chestnut valley, you're supposed to outmaneuver a goomba with a chestnut, but it's way too fast and therefore impossible.

Same thing in water vellumental, the blue crab is too fast to hit the POW.

Each time I removed the ips file temporarily to pass the area.

    I know you have to create a health and health max variable. Then there is a calculation you use in code to subtract width size of the health bar. Google few vids.
