Disclaimer: This program is a WIP, it's pretty stable for Gen VI and VII games. However it can fail at any time. Make a save backup of your games before using this tool. I will not take responsibility for any save corruption, loss of data or banning from Nintendo.

What is this application?

PKMN-NTR is a on-the-air memory editing program for pokémon games in the Nintendo 3DS. In other words, is a mini-PKHeX that works while the game is running. It also has some bots capable of automate tasks like Wonder Trading pokémon or Breeding.

Which games are compatible?
  • Pokémon X
  • Pokémon Y
  • Pokémon Omega Ruby
  • Pokémon Alpha Sapphire
  • Pokémon Sun
  • Pokémon Moon
  • Pokémon Ultra Sun (WIP)
  • Pokémon Ultra Moon (WIP)
All games need to be updated to the latest version and .NET Framework 4.6 is also needed. Pokémon Sun and Moon are compatible using Mode3-NTR.

What it can do?
  • Dump and edit pokémon from boxes, Day Care/Nursery, Battle Box and Party using PKHeX interface.
  • See wild opponent pokémon and your partner's pokémon during a trade.
  • Clone and delete pokémon.
  • Inject pokémon from a *.pkx file in your computer.
  • Edit Items and Trainer Data.
  • Bots for Breeding, Soft-reset and Wonder Trade.
  • Search pokémon in the 3DS' RAM with Poké Digger.
  • Build your own mini-bots with the Script Builder.
How do I use it?
  1. Read the wiki.
  2. Look for your 3DS' IP address using FBI or an FTP client.
  3. Start NTR-CFW (Use Mode-3 if you want to use a Gen 7 game in an old 3DS).
  4. If you want to use bots, enable InputRedirection.
  5. Open your game, both retail and digital version are supported.
  6. Enable the NTR debugger.
  7. Go to PSS / Festival Plaza.
  8. Connect to Internet.
  9. In your computer, start PKMN-NTR.exe.
  10. Input the IP Address of your Nintendo 3DS.
  11. Click on the Connect button
  12. Enjoy the application!

Please, refer this talk to a proper thread. It is a known fact that NTR tools will not work with games which use Extended Memory mode.

For everyone in this thread: Do not ask if Generation 7 games will be compatible with an Old 3DS, any questions of this nature will be ignored in the future.

Thanks so much for keeping this updated.

So, I tried this out with Sun, and the edited Money value doesn't write. It'll change the value in the box, but it isn't reflected in-game.

NTR don't want me to go online to avoid cheating, so it's not possible.

EDIT: I'm dumb, I forget to desactivate my cheat, now it's working.

Wow this looks amazing. I'd love to try and write my own bot/script for this, where in the Github is the source code for the Wondertrade bot?

It was suggested, but I can only read one pokémon from hordes, so it's not that useful.

It's in https://github.com/drgoku282/PKMN-NTR/blob/master/PKMN-NTR/MainForm.cs starting at line 3165 to 3698. Will probably move it to a new class later.

OK, guys update:
  • BP edit will not be implemented until PKHEX supports it. Will probably change the field to FC Collected.
  • No item support for now, I have the offsets but the actual handling of data is very different, compared with Gen VI, the entire handling of item data needs to be reworked, it might take time.
  • I still can't connect the application with the game outside from the Festival Plaza, so, only the Wonder Trade bot will be supported in Gen 7.
When I implement a couple of changes I'll publish the first beta of version 2.0.

New preview version, it's now in beta phase: https://github.com/drgoku282/PKMN-NTR/releases/tag/2.0.0-beta1

Same changelog as alpha-3, but can now edit total festival coins, it's unknown if this affects leveling for festival plaza, my advice is to write one point below next level and collect some FC.
It shouldn't. While I didn't use this, I use my Gateway3DS to give myself max festival coins, I just level up as soon as I get a new coin

  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
never had that i don't think
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
  • DinohScene @ DinohScene:
    run h2testw on it

when SD cards/microSD write speeds drop below a meg a sec, they're usually on the verge of dying

yes looks like an faulty sd

@Psionic Roshambo i may try that with my dead sd cards

@The Real Jdbye, I considered that, but i'll have to wait until i can get the eu version in the mail lol
