Hey guys, as you well know if you have seen the datamines, we have the entire encounter table at our disposal. The only problem is that instead of route numbers and the like, they are grouped by "Zone"s, while it's not that difficult to extrapolate what each zone is by the encounters and cross referencing Diamond's encounters, it is time consuming and takes some trial and error. I went ahead and made something to help myself while working on a port of Renegade Platinum.
If you extract this to the root of your SD card, the Pokemon in the area that you are in will relate to the Zone number, like so:
You enter the Ravaged Path, and encounter a Treecko, Treecko is Pokemon number 252, so you know that Ravaged Path is Zone 252. I also went ahead and made everything level 1 so every battle is easy enough to get out of, even if the Pokemon has Arena Trap or the like.
This should be a nice tide-over until we have proper tools for modding. Hope it helps. If anyone wants to help me to map everything out, post your submissions of what you find here and I'll update the table.
NOTES:
- I have 24 (Arbok) on there twice, I'm not sure what the -1 ones are, so I put them as 1-25 for encounters, I would go back and fix it, but I just finished and I have to head to a birthday dinner.
- To deactivate, simply navigate to atmosphere>contents>010000000000011D90000>romfs>Data>StreamingAssets>AssetAssistant>Dpr>scriptableobjects, then rename gamesettings to _gamesettings or something similar.
- This should work for Pearl, as well, as I also updated the encounter table _p, but you'll have to manually insert the game files in the Pearl folder.
- We probably have the Zones documented somewhere, but it is nice to be able to enter a spot and know EXACTLY what Zone it is. If this tool has no use to use, I don't mind, but please don't waste everyone's time commenting about it.
- Also, please be specific when you tell me what you encountered and where, as there are some Routes that have multiple zones, like Rt. 204 and 205. Screenshots are very helpful. Thanks, and enjoy hacking
