Gaming [Pokémon Sw/Sh] Are Gigantamax raids completely unavailable if you don't connect online?

I've spent about 15 hours in the Wild Area on my CFW Switch (which doesn't connect online) and haven't seen a single Gigantamax raid battle. I've done at least 30 raid battles and have checked the dens whenever I see them.
Are they post-game gated? I have 6 badges so I'm not finished but I'm not near the beginning either.

If you're really lucky, you might even encounter a Pokémon with the Gigantamax Factor in a five-star Max Raid Battle after you've earned the Dragon Badge late in your adventure.
