Does tubehax still enable you to play online once spoofed to 5.5 with your legit disc games?

You're crossing systems. Tubehax is exclusive to 3DS and does nothing on WiiU. The DNS breaks youtube.com but blocks nintendo.update.servers

5.5 spoof allows online play with original disc. Loadiine allows backup play, but you're always playing smash so you can't access online/manuals/updates. Thats it for the WiiU for now.

The 5.5 spoof is applying a non-relevant system update that don't affect the core functionality of 5.3.2. Its permanent is true for now, but if you plan to go emuNAND the official firmware sitting at version 5.5 will mean nothing. Play online already before nintendo blocks everything or makes you pay.

The permanent nature of the patch put me off, so it's not that I'm waiting for emunand but that I just don't want to do anything irreversible.

Permanent is the wrong word to use for this spoofed firmware in my honest opinion, it's persistent, not permanent. While spoofed, the WiiU will try and at times succeed in updating to the real 5.5.0 if you allow it to. You cannot go back to a clean 5.3.2 at this time but switching to latest 5.5.0 or future updates is possible. The WiiU is still running 5.3.2, only the version number/checks are spoofed allowing you to bypass update nag screens. Emunand and future hacks created for 5.3.2 will still be compatible with a 5.3.2 spoofed to 5.5.0 WiiU.

I now use Tubehax DNS on my wii U to run the webkit, kernel exploits for loadline.
Here is the link that shows you https://gbatemp.net/threads/the-definitive-guide-to-wii-u-hacking.396828/
I have not played games online though. I just need to know if tubehax still enables you to game online? (once spoofed obviously)

Tubehax DNS you mean? Of course. It only blocks (er, modifies) youtube.com and blocks the nintendo update servers. Online play still a go, least Mario Maker and Smash works fine as well as most of the 3DS titles.

Yep, same here and is best to have the option to reverse, if needed regardless of anything. Plus, it's no rush and my console has not been on for over a year. I'll wait till better things to come before it's used again.

I wish the spoofer was released back in August since I was on 5.3.2 back then, but I really wanted to play Splatoon online, so I'm on 5.5 now. Yay...

Your loss man. I hope playing Splatoon was worth missing out on cfw and homebrew, but if you regret it you've got no one to blame but yourself.

I personally don't know why people updated to real 5.5.0 in spite of the countless warnings posted all over the Temp. Just saying.

Guessing its because people have been crying wolf for a loadiine-type app since 3.0 kernel and IOSU exploit firmware. Nobody believed that 5.3.2 was the firmware, so they said screw it I own all the games I wanna play anyway and updated. I did myself. Once 5.3.2 was spoofed I sold the 5.5 system and started to enjoy my 5.3.2 box. Not everyone got $300 to juggle around on a new exploitable system though.

I'm 52 years old and one of my jobs in life was marketing research. Im well aware. I've been online for around 30 years. Everyone and their grandmother already has my personal information. One more having my email address isn't ruining my life or even effecting me in any way whatsoever.

Fake name, address and payment info for internet service, etc? lol. Ill say it again. Everyone freaks out about OMG WINDOWS!! But crickets on anything else they do.
  • RedColoredStars @ RedColoredStars:
Other windows stuff people complain about hypocritically too. Like "But but but Windows bundle junk apps!!!!" Yeah?? So do many Linux distributions. Dont like it? Use one without them. Same with windows. Either find a pre-made version without the bundled stuff, or very easily make your own installer with what you want and do not want.
