If I understand what @mrjaredbeta said above about doing a PAL to NTSC conversion (perhaps with an example picture), I'll happily test them out on the Fear Effect games.

In fact I just finished playing The PAL PSN vers of Fear Effect 2 and noticed some minor bugs with the dynamic backgrounds being out of sync, converting to NTSC might fix it.
Yeah, I would try to convert with current pop-fe test build with Force NTSC checkbox. Results seem to vary, and more testing is needed.

@The_Ho @Webardo On a side note, I am getting Star Wars: Episode I booting and working, but with heavy graphical corruption right now. The bad news is that it is requiring Vita's command 0x1E. And the graphical corruption is simply abysmal right now. You cannot see anything on screen without it being shrouded in green and pink polygon garbage. No actual textures are being applied as well.

So, maybe no fix for this one. And def does not seem possible on PSP, but who knows...

i use Zapper2K for converter PAL to NTSC... the only games worked well are Hard Edge, FFV and VI, Suikoden 1 and 2... i tested converting Fear Effect but the screen is cut off...we already have NTSC version...the only part the is missing is the fix....

No need for that though. Apparently the configs allow to change the PAL timings to NTSC without having to patch the games, so compatibility could be better than using Zapper2K.

I have an "Enable swap-disk" checkbox for pop-fe-ps3. Should I add a similar one for pop-fe-psp ?
No need I think, there aren't that many multi-disc games that have issues when swapping, so making configs for them is fine.
The problem here is that Fear Effect can swap discs fine with no config on Vita, but not on PSP.
Perhaps a config could help, but none of the disc related ones helped as of now.

My apologies, but what is the most benefit for converting PAL to NTSC beside more content for some games like Digimon World 2003? Or is the performance better when using PAL converted game?
Post automatically merged:

I also would like to try to apply the FF9 fix to Brave Fencer Musashi maybe it would fix the slowdown in some effect intensive area. I used the eboot with fixes from @The_Ho, but when I opened it the Hex config has different layout and I immediately confuse on where to put the code hahaha

for me an example was HARD EDGE... in NTSC/USA it was TRAG but on PAL/EUR it remained as HARD EDGE same as JPN... and for FFV and FFVI if you look at the year below at the title screen you can see 2000 while on NTSC both games its only 1999 then for SUikoden 1 and 2... PAL/EUR version fixed the bugs on NTSC which made PAL is the definitive version...without modding the original game...and we all know PAL is only 50hz even on PSP you can still see the slow and sometimes ghosting... though there is a game that PAL is the definitive version BUT if you change it to NTSC the game will become slow...its COlin Mcrae Rally 2.1

I see, so it's true that for same game back then, PAL version is some called definitive version if not for the 50Hz performance. It will be stellar for the update of pop_fe with PAL -> NTSC converter

Hi SirS!! @The_Ho @Webardo im gonna report my experiment configs:

@The_Ho the FF9 config worked in 3 games:
1. Digimon Rumble Arena - Works absolutely FANTASTIC!!!
2. NFS Hot Pursuit - made the game 0 Lag 60 FPS made the game absolutely FANTASTIC!!! audio/bgm is the last missing piece.
3. Tekken 3 - made the game 0 Lag 60 FPS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!

my experimented code made the game GRANDIA and XENOGEARS..at least slightly improved and remove slowdowns..

Well, the PAL->NTSC is kind of a hit or a miss. It is difficult to tell if it is working correctly. I believe Chaos Break and Hellnight are working fine, but Tekken 3 and Tomb Raider have mixed results (Tomb Raider seems to be running slightly faster than NTSC).
What about Tekken 3? Is it also slightly faster or something else is messed up?

I’m not too sure to be honest. It seems like timer is correct speed, but game itself is still the same PAL speed. I also tried to mix and match with bit 3 and command 0x0B, but nothing helped.
How weird... Why don't you try it in duckstation with 60hz timing? Perhaps that shows wether it's a problem with POPS or the game itself.

Yeah, definitely seems to be reacting differently than Duckstation does with its NTSC setting. This bit 28 seems to be completely unrelated to PAL->NTSC, but seems to get lucky in some cases I guess. This is gonna need some more research...

Btw, for the backports, it may be good to use a single config + 0x06070060 format for PSP only ones. You don't have to do it this way, but it will probably make things a bit clearer for us if we ever have to go back to these configs and see what could be working right/wrong.

Perhaps by messing with the cycle counting things get sped up? Maybe it's better to make configs in a case by case basis. Some games are fine with bit 28, while others may need bit 3 and command 0x0B.

I already started backports yesterday. I'm doing it alphabetically, and just did it all the way up to letter B. I'm noting down games that use Vita only commands (most of the new ones use command 0x1E), and leaving them aside for now. I'm not sure what to do with those...
Anyway, I'm just leaving the revision on 0x06070060 for PSP only configs. It'd be cleaner to have only one set of configs for PSP, so yeah, I'll do that from now on (and remove cfg2 from the ones I already ported).
Also, I'm porting the configs to other regions at the same time, so I'm doing everything slowly as to not leave the lower revisions only on configs intended for both Vita and PSP. :)

the Tekken 3 i have in my PSP is SLPS 91202 Rev 1 JPN NTSC... and then i combined it with @The_Ho's FF9 patch it became 0 Lag/60 FPS ...its fast pace now and absolutely Excellent...

yes its 1.1 NTSC this one:
7000 0706 0000 0606 0200 0300 FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF 05FF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF 0000 0000 FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF 0000 FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF 0000 0000 0000 0000 FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF 0000 0000 0000 0000 FFFF FFFF 0200 0300 FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF 05FF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF 0000 0000 FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF 0000 FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF 0000 0000 0000 0000 FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF 0000 0000 0000 0000 FFFF FFFF
feel free to edit also if you ever found errors... when i tested it the battle starts more faster than the regular or no config eboot... and dont set FAST on loading...
