A Night Light Mode. I don't know you guys, but that blue light is painful. People who study on notes or Pdfs know that feeling, after few hours the eyes feel very tired. If it had a blue light filter i'd start using my Switch to study too.
Playing the night is bad too. Because of that ultra powerful blue light, i (at least me) don't feel sleepy anymore, and that's bad. I don't know if adding a filter is hard or impossible, but that would help everyone, mainly people who work or study the whole day on a Pc. In that case, i wouldn't even interested to play 5-10 mins before going to bed.
Wonder why Nintendo didn't add this feature, it should be a must (imo), mainly if your Console is bought by many teenagers\kids.

Here's an idea: a certificate spoofer in order to protect your real certificate. Once the spoofed certificate is banned, a new one can be generated, and so on. Also, private online servers.
While its virtually impossible to spoof a certificate (they're locked behind a 2,048 character key and by the time this gets cracked, your grandchildren will be playing the New Nintendo Switch Pro XL & Knuckles), we can simulate LAN play over a VPN: https://gbatemp.net/threads/official-switch-lan-play.520912/

Oh, that's really awesome. And here I thought that they would implement something like they did for DS and Wii games. Let's hope that in the future, they also include Splatfests for Splatoon 2.

So I don't know if this already goes under the "Themes" entry under Media. but I REALLY want a HomeBrew that would allow us to change our Custom themes on the Switch, by selecting from a range of themes that we have already put on the SD Card.

Also, I don't know if this is possible, but if this could be achieved without having to restart the console, that would be freaking awesome.

Is there an homebrew (or another way) to mount a network drive as a folder in the micro SD? I think it will be very useful for retroarch.

The 3DS version of this thread was reasonably successful so I thought I would do the same thing here.

Please don't post "looking for developers" type posts in the forum unless you have a solid WIP repository to show. Otherwise it is just a waste of time for everybody. Instead, if all you have is a good idea but not the skills to bring it to fruition, please share it here. Developers with skills but no ideas will hopefully look here, and your idea may get picked up.

Homebrew list on WikiTemp

We have now a Wiki homebrew page : https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/List_of_Switch_homebrew_applications
Note that we just created the pages, filling is in progress.
Please, help maintaining it by adding missing or new released homebrew.
Thank you.

I have a request:

FTP transfers seem to be capped at a rather measly 3.5MB/s (at least on my system), when I'm pretty certain the NAND (and most of the SD cards) can handle 30+.

Can we get a way to do File transfers over USB? Or possibly an SMB server app?

Some way to use Wireless/Wired keyboards in RetroArch to tinker around in DOSBOX with. Also, a port of the most recent version of DOOMRL with the tiles from ChaosForge, it is open source so shouldn't be too hard, willing to contribute to a bounty as well.

does it allow for portrait mode?

I haven't tried it so i wouldn't know but it sure does support all formats you want, just try it out and if there's no portait mode, just suggest its addition to the author (joel), he's always trying to improve it...

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
