You can emulate PS1 games, but it's far from perfect. You're much better off just buying a PSP. They're relatively cheap, easy to hack with CFW, even on the latest version, and they can play PS1 and PSP games without a hitch.

Guys guys, I've got this. We just, tape down a Vita to the 3ds. You get the benefit of 3 screens and two systems for the price of 2 consoles!

Or better, you can buy a gpd win and with that you can play emulators which run on windows such dolphin (gamecube emulator), pcsx2 (ps2 emulator) and even citra (3ds emulator) :)

Gpd win is interesting. Too bad it cant emulate ps2 and gc at fullspeed. Gpd win 2 will be able to do that hopefully!
