I installed the new exploit on my PS3 Slim, and I tried installing a package, where I get an error. I then tried to install a cfw where everytime I tried installing it, it said that its corrupted. I even tried it in recovery mode. Any help?

would be helpful if you had the error code. pkg files have a sha-1 at the bottom of the file. if it's not correct, the system will say the pkg is corrupted.

What firmware are you on, and what CFW re you trying to install?

Which tutorial are you following as 3k slims work for dumping but not writing afaik.

But then im not too up on PS3 hacking right now.

4.82 and I tried to install ferrox
Have you checked that a 3k slim can even do that yet!?

Which tutorial you following?

Edit:

From the leaked ps3xploit v3

PS3 3k+ owner's you have had the choice to Buy/Sell/Exchange/Trade your SuperSlim/Late Slims for a CFW compatible PS3 (i know easier said then done). You have not and you waited patiently for something to arise and now there is something so close but is it worth damaging your console to get something that even if you do get lucky and not damage your console is INCOMPLETE and missing features (that could still lead to serious errors) and is only a matter of days away until the real thing that will be properly tested and proper instructions provided from the developer;s who built the hack

I did look if it could, but I didnt find anything saying that it isnt hackable.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

If you cant install a cfw or packages then why would you want to hack a ps3?

Dude, exploits on superslims and later Slims models are different than previous versions, in a way you can't install CFW (AFAIK). Read the PSX-Scene tutorial about Xploit 3.0. And as a personal recommendation: read everything before trying to install anything instead of forcing pkgs into your console without knowing if it can actually run them.

I hate ordering stuff online if I can go buy it somewhere close to me, and everywhere anymore will give you a discount only if you order it online, bs. Should be a discount if I go pick it up, not order online.

I love it for most things most stores you just shows the receipt online and they scan it

Mostly for big purchases, I want it in my hands before I pay. Like a tv, I trust picking it up myself, before I'd trust it being sent thru mail/delivery. (Broken screen, etc) But yea if I can order online, then pickup at store is ok, but not all places offer that.

Thing is, if you break it driving back to your house, it's your fault. But if the delivery driver damages it, it's not your fault.

Most people that haul big tvs have empty trucks or know enough not to set it face down

Then I gotta send it back and wait another week or two. I have a pickup truck, with a extended cab, so no prob for me.
