i have a 128gb Samsung flash drive that I've used to install pkg files on my console. Yesterday the PS4 stopped detecting this drive. It is still detectable in my pc as I can transfer new pkg files to it. When plugged in the back it is detected but forced as external storage which it doesn't meet requirements for. I have the same model flash drive in 64gb and that is still detectable by the PS4. What causes this issue and how can I fix. It used to work

SOLVED: was full of pocket lint. Cleaned out and works now. I guess the connectors on the PS4 weren't as long as my pc and weren't connecting when I wasn't able to push the flash drive in as far due to the lint

Thanks for reporting back but my guess is that it wasnt entirely the lint as the ps4 pros front usb slots are too narrow to fit many drives and require you to angle/bend tilt the drive to have it fully inserted.
