Hacking Homebrew PSP; firmware 1.5 or newest OE?

sorry for all the questions, here's another noobish psp question:
should I stick with 1.5 or upgrade to the newest OE firmware?

any help/advice appreciated!!

Upgrade to the newest 3.40 OE. Why stick with 1.5 firmware when you can play any game from memory card with 3.40 OE installed. Also you can play PS1 games on it.

goin to give the ps1 emulation a go later

Custom FW all the way. The PS1 emulator is absolutely fantastic and is worth the move alone.
