Hi everybody . :)
I want to change my ageing external HDD (500Go from WD) for a bigger one, for my PS3 cfw.
I've read few posts on the forum, before posting my question.
I want to buy a 2 Gb HDD. i will format my HDD on FAT32.
Of course, i will install my usual games and then defrag the HDD

here is my question :

As anyone notice any difference (loading time, slowdowns..) with games playing from external HDD :

- between 5400 RPM and 7200 RPM (there are a lot of "green" HDD nowadays.. which very slow... ) ?

- between HDD with 64 Mo or 128 Mo or 256 Mo of cache size (some "green" HDD have large cache size.. but do you get any convincing result with more cache ???) ?

i don't think anyone has tested any of this.

i would go for a modern 7200rpm drive with a decent just to be sure you get max performance, there's not much price difference anyway
