I dunno anything about said methods, but if I did there would be a way around the serial problem.
So apparently there's a new cert going around but it has special protection to avoid people from sharing it. It can be used to work with CDNSP but it's tricky but i heard it can be used on the switch itself by replacing your own current cert. It's being shared on that discord server but i don't know too much about it just yet
wait hold up i thought certs were console specific and injecting the wrong one would brick your switch?
From what i gathered it came from that one discord server and it's somehow protected so that people can't share it. That's really all i know about it

Yeah i thought so to but maybe they managed to change that? I don't know the details as i'm not on that discord server, the cert found it's way to another discord server where i'm at. Trying to get more info on it as we speak
There is one cert currently, but it will probably be banned any minute (maybe). There is no protection, it's just the last one.
That is the publicly shared one.I'm talking about one that was shared on the discord AFTER that one. I tried it out on CDNSP and t doesn't work BUT it doesn't show the banned cert error. I'm strill trying to gather more info

Yeah, public certs are getting banned really quick, certs are still being shared in private communities though.
On that one other Discord server i'm at, yes. At first i was told that it was a new cert but the second i mentioned it didn't work on CDNSP, the guy that shared it says it only works on the actual Switch and then said that it's somehow protected against people sharing it and for it to work on CDNSP you'd have to somehow make your own certificate or something and that it came from THAT discord server
EDIT: New info has come out: Apparently it's the same cert that's currently working(As in the very last one) BUT the dummy protection was cracked, meaning that it will work on an actual Switch without bricking it

30 is pretty impressive...but I wonder what someone could do with a dedicated PC, a 1GB cable connection and almost 2TB of space?? Bet they could pretty much download every single last US title that is available on CDN or something... like 692 titles with updates and DLC... wonder if anyone has tried that?!

This may be a bit off topic, but since this has been brought up... I want to clean my switch and stay off homebrew and backups until it is safer, specially after this move from Nintendo.
If I have used SXOS with only XCI files, and I have not had any errors and kept it with the airplane mode all the time, am I clean and safe to go back online? Do I just save my files, format my SD and I should be fine?
And if i'm not "clean" how I erase traces?

You can erase traces... there is a log that will be sent out to Nintendo as soon as you connect to the internet... it will tell them you used Games without a valid cert and that only will get you banned
My suggestion , save your saves, unlink Nintendo account, format the first clear the log once and then format the console. That should keep it like new I guess... xDDDD
No one knows for sure, best way would be to format your sd card and restore a clean nand backup from before you used any kind of homebrew or sx os but there might still be traces left that no one knows about except nintendo

Yeah, but if you clear your logs and then do a factory reset it should "look" normal that the console doesn't have any logs :v
Sadly, I did not backup...big mistake on my end. And if that doesnt really ensure me safety, might as well leave it like this.
Maybe I will try to go online in a couple of days with no SD card... Doubt it will work (due to the logs being sent that was mentioned after this quoted comment), but I'd like to check if I still have a chance.
What you should definitely do is unlink your Nintendo account
