Hacking r4i 4ds gold RTS - White 2 / black 2 not booting up. Stuck on title screen with glitchy music.

Hello,

I know i have asked this question before in the noob thread, but i want to get some advice one more time before i am considering buying a new card.

See this link for the card i use and the files i have on it https://imgur.com/a/Q5RKR

so basically, all games that are on there do work, even white 2 and black 2 DO boot up. However after the intro videos it goes in a black screen. You can hear the title music (glitchy though). but nothing else happends.

I appreciate any tips/ideas!

Things i tried:

- Try new SD card (Several)
- Format it with SDformatter
- Tried several sources of roms
- Tried backing up different r4 flash kernels things (NTR boot removal)

I probably forgot a few things but i am at a lost here, especially since the other games do work without any problems.

Have you tried to update your card to it's latest firmware ?
Maybe it's just a issue due to the compatibility of the firmware

Yep, i got the latest wood kernel from the website.

Mh , have you tried to load a trimmed version of the rom ?

My friend had a similar problem with a different ds game, I forget how he solved it though sorry.

Sorry he doesn't remember how, other than getting an entirely new flashcart.
I hope you can fix your problem another way.

Maybe you could try by trimming your rom , there is something software that can let you do that

In the OP post it says he tried multiple roms from different sites, but he could try desmume (http://desmume.org/download/)

My mistake I didn't see that.

One thing to try is to see if there are any AP cheats for these games. Most flash carts have a cheat menu u can access by pressing X

I tried an emulator and it boots up no problem to title screen. I checked the cheats but its disabled by default (never used it) so sadly thats not it either. :/

Huh. Do you have ntrboothax currently installed on your 3ds? Because I remembered that I ordered an r4i gold rts flashcart 3 days ago, so when it arrives I can always test to make sure it's not just you (I'll also try to load black 2/white 2).

I used the card to setup ntrboothax yes. but i did restore the card, so it should work like normal right? :l (i might be wrong)

Not sure, I'm sort of new to 3ds hacking in the sense that I've never used ntrboothax before. But, I would think if you restored the card the way it tells you to at 3ds.guide or another guide then it should be back to normal.

Are you sure you can play any other game besides black/white 2?

Yep, super mario 64 ds, pokemon diamond/pearl/platinum/HG/SS/black 1 / white 1 boot up no problem.
