Misc Random signal drop offs when enabling HDR at 4K with 10BPP

I've got a new monitor earlier this week to replace my ancient 1080p TN panel, the new screen itself works fine at 4K in 8-bit or 10-bit RGB mode but as soon I enable HDR in the windows settings I start to get random signal drops. This only happens on the desktop, full screen applications and games are not affect as far as I have tested.
What could be the cause of this? I've already tried three different HDMI cables and a DisplayPort cable but it still occurs. Is it some kind of weird software error in windows or the monitors firmware?

i had the somewhat the same issues the problem was a cheap hdmi cable look for an 48gbps hdmi cabel that did it for me
