i have 0.3

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

even with the standart v2 a9lh
I made a post above about upgrading from 0.3. There was a problem with running SafeA9LHInstaller after 3DSafe. You need to enter your PIN, run Decrypt9, restore a NAND backup with normal A9LH, then run SafeA9LHInstaller and install 3DSafe 0.4.

I'm not sure actually. I think the titles are on the SD card. However, there is a way around this. Here's what to do:
  1. Make a NAND backup now and call it currentnand.bin. This will include 3DSafe 0.3 and all your games
  2. Using Decrypt9, restore your NAND backup containing normal A9LH but no games. This will overwrite your A9LH with normal A9LH
  3. Now, using Hourglass9 restore currentnand.bin. This will restore the NAND but won't overwrite A9LH. So you'll end up with your current NAND but no 3DSafe!
  4. Next, run SafeA9LHInstaller and install 3DSafe 0.4

As I explained above, 3DSafe 0.4 contains a copy of SafeA9LHInstaller so once you're successfully on 0.4 you will always be able to update it or install different A9LH payloads :)

Excellent! I should add that the reason this will work is that Decrypt9 overwrites the A9LH payload, but Hourglass9 doesn't. So you can use both apps as I described to switch the A9LH payload while keeping the same NAND contents. And yes, once you're on 3DSafe 0.4 you can remove SafeA9LHInstaller payload from the Luma folder as 3DSafe provides it.

one question: luma3ds can load cro files (used for pkmn oras hacks)
do you know where to get these ? because i never heard of .CRO files before

No idea sorry. I don't even know what they are. I don't think it's related to 3DSafe though so better to start a new thread

I think that if you enable the keep a9lh option then it will leave whatever payload is already there in NAND (in this case 3DSafe 0.3) but if you disable it then it will restore the whole NAND including whatever A9LH payload is already there in the backup. If you're certain that the backup has A9LH then I believe you should disable the keep a9lh option. Let me double check that and get back to you.

Just had confirmation: if you DISABLE the keep a9lh option, it uses everything in the NAND dump, so if it has a9lh, it would use whatever a9lh is on it.

So: disable the keep a9lh option, restore your NAND dump without 3DSafe, then reenable keep a9lh and restore your current NAND dump to keep the a9lh payload which was restored previously.
