Not enough hype on this forum for this game.

Anyway the dev posted some pics on their Facebook page of the MS-DOS EGA Simulation mode:

I then chipped in saying it CGA, Monochrome & Gameboy would be nice too and then the dev said there will be CGA & Gameboy modes too!

Trailer of the regular mode for those not in the know:

And just for the sake of it the April Fools joke:

EDIT: Screen of GB mode just released. Also over on Twitter they say it has C64 mode which they really like, Windows 3.1 which "looks like ass".

Heh, that's pretty funny.

I haven't really been following the game but I've been seeing your news posts on it and I have a feeling I'll get it for the Vita when it comes out. Hopefully it'll come out next month (like Wikipedia says).

Devs say its definitely out on Steam, XBLA & WiiWare next month. I can't say that I would want to play this on such a tiny screen like PS Vita though. :yaypsp:

lol@ video brick.

this actually looks like fun. 3DS, please get it on eShop pronto.

Yeah, I'm surprised it didn't honestly. Like it's practically on everything else and it's not like the 3DS can't handle it. I doubt it'd use 3D at all but who gives a fuck about that.

Also I'm surprised there's no iPhone/Android port. Just saying with GTA: CW (being a top-down GTA game) being on the system.

They're considering those versions but they said something about they won't yet otherwise the game will be delayed further and they feel several years (longer if you count the time when this was the GTA3 demake, Grand Theftendo) is enough of a wait. When I say "they" its essentially one guy doing most of the work.

i'm seeing the resolution, and they definitely have to resize things to fit this on a handheld (VIta could probably handle it well, but the 3DS will need some adjusting).

but man, this game seriously looks awesome. they could totally fool us with that look if they included tons of game mechanics and maybe even advanced physics, something that could belie the simple presentation.

Yeah its retro mainly in look and references. This could not be done on anything higher than PlayStation+ and there are a lot of modern gameplay elements in there as well

This is one of those games where the replay value would be extremely high, shit I'd just replay it in CGA mode.

arrrrrrrr, please, no more. i can't take all these awesomeness when i know it will only be on a platform I DON'T HAVE. :(

You don't have a Wii, Xbox 360, PS3, or Vita?

EDIT: Or a PC? I would think it won't be too intensive for a PC.
PC, i have that. but no Steam. (i don't even think Steam is available on my country). i *could* pirate this, theoretically, but awesome stuff deserve support. also, i'm not much of a console guy, handhelds already eat a considerable amount of my free time. woe unto me if i bought a console...

There is a regular PC version as well as Steam. Also when you pre-order (£6 was a fricking bargain for me!) you get a none DRM version as well as a version for Steam.

Spoke to Tom Fulp the other day, if he can find his old Newgrounds site content like the mini Flash animations from the 2000's that played on the portal.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
So far no response, but he did say that he'll find them. Wayback Machine doesn't have em.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, atleast the 1999 versión of pico's school is avaliable (the difference between it, the 2006 versión and the 2016 versión is that the speed of the game depends of the speed of your computer and that it had the og soundtrack)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Another being Pico VS Bear, the original 1999 version before Jim Henson filed a DMCA takedown.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
The 2006 versión was made when the flash portal was made
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Many people thought it was lost, but was discovered that he hid it on the same page.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, although the "secrets" system where the game was has been removed. Also pico vs uberkids had a netplay versión that was shutdown, although the swf file has been found
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Nope. There are two download buttons on the same page, where you can download the original under a file called "bear.exe". "bear2.exe", however, is the updated game in a Flash projector. P.s. this was on the archived Pico page from 2000.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:

@SylverReZ, also the pico 2 demos used to be only for the newgrounds patrons but they are on internet archive too (https://archive.org/download/picos_school_2)

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
Iirc the demos were removed from newgrounds in 2022

@SylverReZ, or well only the demo with mindchamber's style was on newgrounds

Fun fact @SylverReZ: iirc one of the goals on the fnf Kickstarter stated that pico 2 would be finished but the Kickstarter didnt get enough money for that goal to be fullfiled
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, FNF sucks, their community is toxic as hell.

@SylverReZ its a single player game

@The Real Jdbye, Yea but it has a shitton of mods with their own songs and stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@The Real Jdbye, and quite a lot of people involved in those mods get cancelled

Newgrounds wasn't the birth of FNF; rather, it was games where you beat up celebrities and parodies.
