Yeah, this is the advancement we were waiting on. I guess this will be avaiable in the next nightly? In so far i'm using an unnoficial build and seems promising, but i want to test the official one

from libretro.com:
"Try it out today: the updated core is currently available in the latest nightly versions, and will ship with the next RetroArch release."

Anyone know how to get it to work? constantly getting an ARM11 exception when trying to boot the game. If you need the error dump, let me know.

Wich game are you trying to boot? So far i'm able to play Symphony of the Night and Ridge Racer Type IV

They added CHD support too so try to convert it to that format

Sorry por the double post but got a crash while playing Symphony of the Night, right at the moment Dracula's sprite started to morph in the prologue battle

I wasn't using stock setting though. I set the resolution on Integral scale 1x and disabled bilineal filtering.

What are some games that run in fullspeed? Spyro 2 only gets 20 FPS :( Well, I'll just use my Switch I guess...
I've been able to get spyro 2 Eu Pal to play at 50fps with the right settings:
Pal bios
Vsync off
Audiosync on
Bilinear filtering off(not sure if necessary)
Lighting off (under advanced settings when running games under options)
Interpolation off
Reverb off (not sure if necessary)
Rom converted to .pbp/.chd from .bin .cue <- Very important step!
I'm gonna test it on O3DS, I refuse to replace it
Please do test it. I would be interested in seeing how the old 3ds fares. Go for the 2d games so Rayman, Bomberman World, Metal Slug, Rapid Reload etc..

Actually I guess I could test with the n3ds set to 3ds clocks... Hmm...
Apparently not. Retroarch changes back to n3ds clock speeds.
I did just test Parasite Eve and it runs amazingly well. I'd almost think that you could run it on an o3ds with the right settings too.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
