It seems that the 3DS is absolutely not a priority for the retroarch team. Be happy with what we have, but don't expect much more.
It was a pleasure!

i have just tried mario rpg on both snes9x 2005 plus and snes9x 2010
both are lagging on a new 3ds
---------------------------------------
also gpsp crashes a lot on the new 1.4 stable

Don't try the plus. Try the SNES 2005 only without plus. If you don't have it download the stable version again

Here's the .core file in order for the standalone retroarch.cia to detect the older pcsx_rearmed core.
This way file / core detection works for psx games on the latest builds.

I use the 1.4.0 stable cia's and the 1.3.6 pcsx cia. Switching between them works fine.

Extract and place it in your cores directory in your retroarch folder.

unfortunately.
it has a bigger install base and it's capable enough for quite a few emulators. less capable systems have better emulators so...

Um... I'm having problems with both the 3dsx and cia versions of RetroArch not loading ROMs. As soon as I load a ROM, RetroArch exits.

If it's for the gpSP core have you put gba_bios.bin in the retroarch/cores/system folder?

Most of the other cores should work without a bios though so not sure what the problem could be for them.

I have a new 3DS with Luna. Are there any advantages to running Retroarch with straight ROMs vs injected VC CIAs? Obviously with Retroarch I would have access to systems that VC doesn't support, but I'm mostly interested 3rd and 4th gen consoles, so I'm good either way. I just want the best performance.

VC Injects are usually better performance wise. You lose out on access to save states and cheat functions, but the games run faster and more accurately, generally speaking.

You can only install so many titles so it's not the best solution if you tend to hoard games, though.

Is anyone still working on the 3ds port of RetroArch? It's disappointing that the last truly stable build is nearly a year old at this point, and still has significant performance issues on certain cores that low end Android phones do not.

It's crazy that they're still ignoring the 3DS, considering that every single console is now currently capable of running Retroarch.

you know what sucks, the PS1 emulator isn't THAT bad from what I've been trying on it. it just needs a some work, kind of like every emulator on this. they could probably all run perfectly at full speed if developers cared to work on them.

Im not agreed...PSX will never works properly on 3ds....why you are centred on 3ds emulation, when the PSP native emulation works perfectly for PSX?

a PSP is really cheap on second hand.

greetings

that's not an EXCUSE "why care about emulators for anything if you can get a PSP?" lol because the 3DS is MUCH better and it's what I prefer to play on.

my reason for not using the PSP is that it actually has pretty shitty hardware, I know because I already have one. I can't even look at the screen and the buttons feel so weird and ugh

I think that you are infra the PSP. Its a great console with a really good scene.3DS cant run properly PSX...accept it or continue play it with low framerate and shitty music (or no music) .

im only give you the best handheld psx option (if you ignore android consoles ;) )

greetings

I find that the 1.3.3 gpsp runs perfect on n3ds with vsync and shaders enabled. It looks and runs great. Not taking a chance with 1.4.0
