I got this error when trying to launch C&C Red Alert, tried another dump and got black screen
It’s vanilla dosbox, you have the game working?u set core to dynamic? what cpu type?
The dosbox core on Switch doesn't support CD Audio. But Midi music works just fine. I attached the files to enable it, just unzip and copy over into homm2.
All I did to make music work was that I used my USB keyboard on Switch to start "install.exe." In the menu that appeared, I changed music type from "CD Audio" to "Midi", and I changed Midi and Sound FX driver setting both to "Soundblaster 16." I did that, selected "save and exit", and now both music and effects work together in Heroes of Might and Magic 2.

Heroes of Might and Magic 1 also works great, also just mounting the .gog file as iso. All with dosbox dynarec dynamic core, 10,000 cycles, cycles fixed.

HOMM3 doesn't work (requires Windows).
I have it working, i had a black screen for about 30 sec before the title screen came in so wait abit, it may still work. It’s vanilla dosbox, you have the game working?
Thanks ploggy will give it a shotI have it working, i had a black screen for about 30 sec before the title screen came in so wait abit, it may still work.
Once in game the best settings for me is:
Cpu core = Dynamic
Cpu type = auto
Cpu cycle mode = fixed
Cpu multiplier = 10000
Cpu cycles - 2
Those are the only options I changed.
OK weird, second boot now no sound wtf?
Awesome great job.
Settings
10k cycles
Dynamic
Cycles fixed
Any have idea how to bind controls to joycons?

This post was really helpful for getting a setup running, thanks - one thing tho, it should be .conf not .configuse a config file (.config ending),
Also with the dosbox core, when loading content multiple times, always select close content inbetween. Otherwise prone to crash.
Hmm is it a memory/RAM limitation issue that causes it to crash if you don't close content?
No it is a bug in Retroarch that has always been there. Nothing with the core specifically I think.
at least there’s a workaround for now
